Other Fuels / Re: The next hairbrained Idea......

Read something once about a farmer who used an old tractor tube connectected to the digester outlet.  When it was full he rolled it to his house, connected it to his stove and plonked a couple of concrete lintels on it to give pressure

Or try this.  I think Ed mentioned it a while ago.

To be honest, I would love to see Glort commenting on powerforum, it would surely ruffle up some feathers! If he gets banned, no skin off his teeth, he has that great Aussie site to fall back on.  What do you call yourself there?

No, he's in Oz, their day starts way earlier than ours, so the news gets there first ;D

Hi Hugh, try these guys hilux4x4.co.za.  They should be helpful.

Hi Ed, if you haven't come across this site yet, it's worth a look. powerforum.co.za.  Lots of good stuff, but I suggest Glort refrains from this forum as it will drive him batshit.  Too much anal 'follow the leader" norms.  In saying this, I have learnt a shitload by wading through the relevant stuff.  I also run an Axpert, the 3Kva version though.  I think they're called PIP 4048 in Australia

Ah, so if sex between two people is called a "twosome" and sex between three people a "threesome"--------------now we know why people call Johndoh "handsome"  :D

Never heard of Bon Ami, but we got Vim, which was the Ajax competitor.  Grew up on the stuff (both brands) and used it to clean everything including my hands when they were full of grease from the bicycle chain.  Can't seem to find it anymore though.  I still have about 10g left from way back, in one of those cardboard canisters with the holes punched in the top.  Lifebouy soap was another good product.  Didn't smell nice though.

Why not seperate the grey from the black water?  All black goes straight to tank, grey to french drain then into garden.  The garden doesn't mind those bad chemicals nearly as mauch as people make out.  After all, the best filters available are earthen.  Also puts less strain on the tank as less dilution taking place

I've watched quite a few and enjoyed them.  Glort, in all seriousness, keep the posts coming, it was just my cheeky South African humour taking dig at you.  I still have a lot to learn and don't want to piss too many people off.

You know, I normally switch off when Glort starts ranting, but I must be honest, his is the best advice so far.  Stop worrying, these things are designed to run for extended periods.  What I would do is not wait for the hurricane, but load the thing as much as possible now and run for at least 12hrs while you're there.  If nothing goes wrong - test passsed.  Now you will know how much oil and fuel it uses and will be prepared and confident when the hurricane does hit

I have found that yr.no is the most accurate, even for us down here in South Africa

How thick is it?  Looks like it could be a wheel for a cart.
