General Discussion / Re: HOWTO: Post pictures in the forum

imgur.com is also an option, you can easily resize for a forum by appending a s/m/l or so to the end of the URL as well

Like so: m added before .jpg to resize to medium on the fly.

and full sized without the m

Original Lister Cs Engines / Re: Lister 12/2 uncrating pictures

I think the main thing would be the price.  Listeroids are in the $2500-3000 range it seems now for indian quality.  If you could produce near dursley quality again and keep it as far under $5k a unit I think guys would go for that.  I know I would be quite interested.

I miss when all the great american companies had their own foundries even, like JI Case.  What a shame we have lost our manufacturing might.

imgur is a pretty solid image hosting platform that most people have gone to now.  You don't need an account with them either, anonymous is fine.  Can create albums, post from albums directly and even use built in resizer API if you want (eg add a 'l' 'm' 's' to the end of the URL to have it rendered as a 'large' 'med...)

Thanks for the hard work Ade and team.  I think you'll be happy with linode, I've had no complaints with them.

You probably need a higher post count, you maybe be able to upload it to an image hosting site like imgur.com or photobucket and link it back though.  If not could email/PM it to another member and have them post it for you, until you have enough posts.

imgur.com is another good image posting site, and can post images anonymously if you like.  Can also link directly to the image so don't have to see the photobucket adverts.

Well that figures, I knew a cheap set NOS in the box was too good to be true.  Do you happen to carry the set I need in stock?

Will PN 201-47012 work in my ST2?

Lister Based Generators / Re: Rebuilding an ST2 with Kohler head

Dieselgman

That is good news, I think I'll start with the engine first and get a parts list together.  I plan on a little trip out west later in the spring that passes through Kansas so I suppose I could give you a list in advance and just stop on my way.

Lister Based Generators / Rebuilding an ST2 with Kohler head
« on: February 11, 2014, 06:40:26 AM »
I've got an ST2 I nabbed for reasonable given its condition, engine is non running and I plan to give it a teardown/overhaul.  The genhead is a Kohler 7.5kw and is basically shot.  From what I have gleaned the Kohler head isn't worth messing with anyways.  The issue I'm wondering about is, this appears to have been a start-o-matic unit using the genhead to start.  I have not pulled the access panel yet to see if there is a ring gear on the flywheel to convert to a automotive starter, if there isn't can these be sourced considering it is a reverse rotation unit?  Also it appears the Kohler set up may not be a standard SAE housing but something custom, how difficult is it to couple a newer style brushless head like from Yanan to this unit?
