Listeroid Engines / Re: Bearing analysis??

Thanks.

The calculation was clear to me, I only wasn't sure which unit you mean. Now it's clear: inches!

Geno: Thank you for the hint, but I'm on Linux ...

What is a plastigauge? I can't find a translation for that.

Which unit are you writing about? (inches?)
I'm only familiar with the metric system used here in germany. So how many millimeters are 0.003?

Thanks

Original Lister Cs Engines / Re: 3/1 Head Gasket Thickness
« on: July 31, 2006, 11:51:02 AM »
Hi Delatite,

I don't know if is the right thickness for a head gasket, but it is sold for Lister Stationary Engines.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7629995010&ru=http://search.ebay.co.uk:80/7629995010_W0QQfkrZ1QQfltZ9QQfromZR8QQfviZ1

It is 0.8mm thick gasket paper.

Hi Guy,

the VAT here in Germany is 16% and will raise in January up to 19%. Or do you mean something different with the 7% rate?
We have 7% VAT only on everthing eatable and literature.

I don't understood your last post, what do you want to say with it? Does this have something to do with customs duty?

Many thanks Guy!

I sent them an email.
How high is the VAT in UK?

Thanks Guy,

my motivation to get a Lister CS is very much higher than to get a Lister L.
I'll have a look to the UK ebay since now. Maybe I have some luck and find someone selling a CS to me and a neighbour of his a Lister L.
I'm a bit afraid of taking a CS home myself, because my spoken english by far isn't as good as my written english. And that is sometimes a problem too. Not to mention the understanding of native spoken english.

Till then I'll have a look on a Topland Listeroid 5/1. It's said to be in excellent quality. Let's see.

Thanks

Thanks to you both.

2000 rpm are not slow speed in my opinion and the arrow engines are far to big for me. I was looking for 6HP engine.
I had the hope the Indians would copy the lister L type enginges too.

Maybe I have more luck to get an old one from the UK.

BTW I'm also looking for an original Lister CS 5/1 or 6/1. UK isn't too far away from Germany.

Thanks anyway

Hallo,

are there some of the old style slow speed petrol/gasoline engines build in india today?
I'm thinking about running them on bio-alcohol.

Or are there other reliable slow speed petrol engines like the »Lister L« built today?

Thanks

Petteroids / original Petter 8-10HP on german ebay
« on: July 13, 2006, 11:51:37 AM »
Hallo,

only FYI. There is a working, original petter for 120€ at the german ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&item=280005098765

Maybe I could buy it for someone to switch it with an original working 5HP lister.

Any interest?

Lars
