I know of an Amish guy not far from me that has an original CS Lister that is air-cooled.  He runs it all year long on a line shaft for his woodworking shop with no problems.  On the cold mornings it starts with no problem.
I will check with some suppliers to see if they can get an air-cooled slow-speed lister-type engine.

The Maine guy's ebay name is 'lobstamang' or 'lobstermang' I believe, and he sells Metro/Metex engines.

There's a fellow who sells Field Marshalls on Ebay but I didn't catch his name.

Eric Lyons sells the GM-90 line in addition to Ashwamegh and homemade engines.

I have been dealing with the Field Marshal brand of engines for the past four years.  Have been very satisfied with the quality of the engines.  I have sold a few of them on Ebay this summer.  If you are interested I have some 6/1's still in stock and will have 20/2's and 12/2's along with more 6/1's coming in around mid to late September.  I am located in Western Wisconsin about 50 miles east of Minneapolis, MN

What come with my engines is a lifting hook that screws onto the stud that holds the rockers to the head.  This works great and seems to balance the engine out well enough.  You can pick these up at any decent hardware store.  As far as lifting the twins...a forklift is the only way to go!

This will be our third load of diesels from India.  We have been in contact with the EPA and they are constantly telling me that this is not suggested as a business.  There are limitations on the number of engines per year and it sounds to me (without looking back at the paperwork) that we should be good for this year.  I am using the stationary engine exemption which is very clear...the engine must be "stationary" for a twelve month period in order to be included in the exemption.  I require a form to be signed by the purchaser(s) stating that the engine will be used for "stationary use only".  They have asked me one other time to produce these records which I gladly did.  In the regulation they state that the fine is something like $32,000 per day for engines not meeting the exemption.  We are trying to explain that most of these engines are going to be run for very short periods of time and for back-up power.  Maybe we will get through to them someday!

Good afternoon,

I have several PM diesels that are clearing customs in Minneapolis, Minnesota that I should have at my shop middle of next week.  I have a few 6/1 (spoked flywheel) 12/2 engines.  I have been cleared by the EPA if you check the regualtions they are tightening but not impossible to get.
