Listeroid Engines / Decision Time
« on: January 25, 2006, 02:42:56 AM »
I am going to make a decision on which engine to buy.  I am either going to get a 6/1, 10/1, or 14/1.  I intend to try and use wvo and wmo in addition to diesel.  I like the idea of having the 14/1 and adjusting the rpm's down to 700 to keep the noise down and promote engine life.  I would then have the extra horsepower available should the need arise.  The 6/1 obviously runs at lower rpms and is a bit cheaperand has indirect injection.  10/1  runs at 1000 rpm's but offers indirect injection.  So I find myself in a bit of a pickle trying to decide which one is best for me.  Suppose I should a pick one out of a hat since I am quite new to these. I am very eager to get started and appreciate any input anyone would like to offer.  Thanks

I wondered if a 1000 rpm Listeroid can be governed to say 700 rpm's with out any problems?

I was just curious?  On the 6/1, 10/1/ 14/1's ....are these the same engines just governed diffrently to make more horsepower?  Thanks

Hi,
I really would like to get off the grid here on the prarie......no trees here to block these gusty prarie winds and im not sure im up to tackling a wind turbine project.  This lister engine looks like its right up my alley.  It kinda reminds me of a kohler iron cylinder engine all grown up and pumped full of horse steriods.  Could anyone tell me where the nearest point of contact for central Illinois is?  Im getting awful low on that costly propane.....thanks.
