« on: September 28, 2010, 10:25:40 PM »
I need some main bush bearings for a CS Startomatic if anyone knows where to get some.  There used to be a website in the UK that sold indian ones but I  guess they are out of business.  I can't access the site anymore.  That will teach me to drag my feet.

General Discussion / Re: GM bankrupcy !!!

I don't have much knowledge on this subject but I do have a question.  How can a company pay 8 billion (yes, that's right) in bonuses in the year 2008 and be bankrupt halfway through the next year?  Now my opinion is, it was poor management.  Why were they paying bonuses like that?  Poor management.   Corporate greed and arrogance.  They thought they were bullet proof when in fact they were as thick skinned as a tomatoe.  Take all the risk you want and be rewarded for it as long as you make it appear to be beneficial or profitable.  Key word is "appear".  Follow advice from Lou Tice (cult like profeteer) "No matter how bad things are just say they are fine until they are in fact fine".  That only works so long and fails to work when things get worse.  Most corporations push his Image 21 program on all their employees.  This is where it gets them.  Confused?

If it's a water jacket crack you can repair it with JB Weld.  Make a small groove following  the crack with a grinder, fill will JB Weld or suitable epoxy, let cure, sand , and paint.  I've had good luck with this method.  You can also weld them up with wire feed welder set on low, I've had good luck with that as well.

I guess I'll play devils advocate here.  I heard the same propoganda and hype about the Listeroid in the beginning.  I think the proof will be in the pudding.

Mean lister green:

you must truely either be a tight wad or ?

your whining about 20 bucks for the cd?, unbelievable!

sure it cost's very little to burn a cd, but how about the time to publish stuff to be burnt on their in the first place?
the time it takes to package and mail the damn thing?

if you truely didn't learn a thing off the cd (which i find unlikely as hell) i would be quite pleased to buy the cd from you
just to see you quit crying!

lifetime updates? are you serious?
how is that supposed to work?

yes sir old George is making a killing on those cd's, probably can afford a loaf of bread and a pound of balogne from the monthly profits
of the sale of those cd's

i tell you what,, obviously you are smarter than most of us
perhaps you can publish a cd and give out free updates for life, for less than 20bucks?

i just don't see the problem, maybe i am just too ignorant and slow?

some peoples children!!

Man, the guy is just putting an opinion out there so you are going to bash him for it?  I thought the moderator ran off all those guys....guess he missed one.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion, in my opinion, good, bad, or indifferent.  I guess some people just aren't man enough to accept that.

Any way.....I'd lay down some coin here if all else fails.

Original Lister Cs Engines / Listeroid cylinder on Original Lister?

Who has put a Listeroid cylinder on an original Lister?  Was it the replica of the original Lister cylinder or was it the Listeroid cylinder with the wet liner?  How is it holding up so far?  Where can I get one?

General Discussion / Links Page?
« on: March 31, 2008, 03:53:56 AM »
Moderator,

Is it possible to have a page dedicated to other websites?  I had an address for a parts distributer in England but my computer crashed and I lost all my "favorites" links and cannot find it now.  A search has revealed 36 pages for me to sift through to try and find the link on here.  It may be a good idea to provide a page for us to save links on or add "post its" to so that we can refer to them as needed.  There is alot of good information on other websites that we may all benefit from.

Thanks

Listeroid Engines / Re: Lister Generator Systems - What Are My Options?
« on: September 21, 2007, 01:02:35 AM »
With the new EPA rules, it looks like I am a day late getting into this hobby (funny hiow that always happens to me with the smog regs).  I have only found one company selling Lister Generator systems, Central Maine Diesel.  Are there others I should be looking at, too?  I'm open to doing assembly, but I don't have the time for heavy fabrication.

Also, I have sensitive computer equipment I'll be running.  I've seen the ST waveforms on this site, and they will not do (too much distortion).  Another problem one person here mentioned was on his system that the low rpm powerstrokes will actually flicker the lights.  From a power output per dollar standpoint, I'd rather stay with an alternator, but is it possible to get good quality A/C power from a Lister system, or should I just go straight to a Lister driving a DC generator to an inverter system?  I don't want waste time and money going down a dead end.

Thanks for the advice!

Michael

Man these things are all over Ebay.  Take your pick.
