No offense meant, but many people are not comfortable with pricing another man's belongings.

Nope, injector. Too uniform a bend in the line for it to be a wire. ;)

Somebody tell me something about the Anil brand.   ??? Personally, I've never heard of it.
Is 2 grand some where in a reasonable ballpark?
I know, I sound like an idiot, but this thing is 3 hours away from me and I'm "almost" interested.

There just has to be a way of drilling that crank, fitting a gear drive pump off the  crank/idler/cam maybe? I dunno, old Mazda rotaries had a small chain drive pump even.
Gotta be a way, if I ever save enough pennies,  ::) I'll have one of Gary's kit engines and find out for myself! MMMWWAAA!

Listeroid Engines / Re: Exhaust gas temperatures - 3kwListeroid

My feelings are that you will have a hard time getting the exhaust temps into the dangerously high zone on a naturally aspirated engine. I've never been able to do any damage and
I've seen my old JD 70 diesel pull tractor grunt hard enough to have flame coming out the stack. Yes it does have alloy pistons. YMMV

Listeroid Engines / Re: Availability?

It all boils down to a bunch of  "edumacated" eggheads that "have all the answers" but can't find their exit orifices with either of their ten digits.
How anybody can figure that burning more fuel to do a set amount of work will result in less pollution has to be based on the time honored principle of Snake Oil.
Bureaucracy, the American way!!

Or contact the guys at Gott's Cove Marine in Maine and for the mere sum of $1500 American they will ship you a brand spankin' new Metro 6/1.
No sales tax even if you have it shipped, quoted me $265 to ship to a commercial dock in TN.
The website says $1200 but they asked $1500 when I e-mailed?? Anyway here's the link

Lister Based Generators / Re: My new engine room!
« on: September 13, 2009, 06:15:32 PM »
Well......(embarrassed look)   I bashfully admit that I don't have anything to try it on. I have straight piped my dodge, and too much trouble on one of the tractors.
Her Highness thinks I am paranoid for wanting a backup generator. "What about the one you have in the barn?" Yeah it has a screaming 8hp B&S that thinks gas is still 28 cents a gallon. Whine.
I was just trying to remember if at work, we still ran blended fuel in the trucks after they started putting cats on them, and I think we did.
This much I do know, when I idled one of them for a time, 30 min or so, the cat was still working to a point, you could tell by the smell.
Then when you took off again, it would blow a lot of "steam" for a few minutes, I guess burning itself out again.
Now on the other hand, The Dodge has a note somewhere to say do not run blended fuel in this vehicle. (because of the catalyst I assume) Still, I wonder......
Just my 2 cents.
Ron.
