Thanks guys, I should have been clearer, genhead is what I know nothing about. I have 3  1100 engines and 1 1115.
The generator does look like an ST head ( I have 3 of those), but the similarity ends when I take the rear cover off. It is totally different.

Generators / Help with Mindong single phase synchronous generator
« on: March 15, 2024, 02:33:06 PM »
Hello fellow genheads!
Well,  what else that is not degoratory do you want to be called?
Anyway I am the (proud?) owner of a Mindong single phase syncronous generator 8kw with an s1100 engine. From what I have seen so far it looks to be pretty low hours.
This thing is circa 1999 or so and it is brushless.
So... does anyone have a manual or even a link to one for this thing? I am pretty much flying blind here. The guy that I bought it from said he would "probably" find the manual and he would mail it to me, but I am not holding my breath.

Listeroid Engines / Re: Catalytic converter to reduce exhaust odor
« on: September 27, 2022, 02:01:10 AM »
Hey Cujet, Bob G and I discussed this idea a while back, but I was angling to raise exhaust temps for a pseudo-cogen system I have been working on for a few years. Unfortunately I had a bad fall in March and have been unable to pursue pretty much anything since.
I pretty well trashed my shoulder and cracked an orbital socket. I'm 60 and don't heal so fast anymore!
At any rate PM him, he sent me links to a few promising units IIRC.

I heard that somewhere, long ago and it fits.

Listeroid Engines / Re: Does water flow around 6/1 posts?
« on: October 07, 2020, 04:08:56 AM »
Well, I had a 1947 John Deere "B" that used lead washers under the head stud nuts to keep water out of the valve cover and thusly the engine oil, and the studs had lasted fifty years at that point with no ill effects.  I did lose a brass pushrod tube that flooded the engine with coolant though. I was also thermosiphon and the coolant requirements were basically just clean water.
Your mileage  may vary.

Yes Glort, I plan to plumb the thing in with the woodboiler's storage tank. I figure that if the lights go out, I might as well get all the bang for my buck that I can. Besides, I scored a couple of super cool antique brass and copper shell and tube exchangers, I wouldn't want them to go to waste.

Things I want to Buy / Re: Wanted listeroid in Alaska
« on: December 01, 2019, 04:35:42 AM »
Hey Bob! Good to hear from you! I had kept tabs on you and was aware that you had gone 'way up North, I think we had even corresponded after your move.
You seem to be the Guru of slow and slower when it comes to engines and getting by with less.
At any rate Try Gary at Diesel Electric Service, dieselgman here on the forum. He is a Lister dealer has a place in Kansas and a place in Alaska. He is an importer of listeroids, and I think he still has a few Dursley originals in rebuildable shape.
Good luck!
