General Discussion / Re: The last Polka
« on: September 08, 2008, 04:34:57 AM »
You know what, I know the feeling, but you contributed alot to this forum, I learned alot from your posts. The Indian Listers are a coin toss, some people get good ones ,and some get bad ones. But as far as the same questions over and over Ill agree, I myself probably asked a question that you answered before,But at least keep in touch with the forum now and then,We will still learn something. Listers are a toy that you play with. We all know that any diesel produced in US or Canada is far Superior than Asia, but we like to tinker with something as a hobby. We like to get our hands in metal and grease, and make it right. My regards to your contributions to the forum. Brian

Listeroid Engines / Another general question
« on: July 24, 2008, 03:59:42 AM »
The rocker arm lube, the rocker arms without the grease cup, just the oiling holes, I was wondering with all the talk on the forum, Would chainsaw oil be good for lubrication? I notice chainsaw oil sticks to the chain, in fact if you speed up your chainsaw, the lube flys off the bar. very sticky, I dont know if it meets sae requirements for the heat generated by the engine, but I thought this might be good lube for long hours of operation? Anybody? thanks brian

Ive lived in the most deploreable city in North America. We have the lowest life forms in the north american continent. canada looks at us from a river. Canadians just dont know how good they got it. Hang in there pal, just remember. Detroit is still worse place. Crime here has a way a life. You know what, I dont understand,We got all kinds of automobile factorys here, a great industrial base, and the worst reputation in the world. I know why, but I cant say brian.

Generators / General Question
« on: July 17, 2008, 04:05:45 PM »
I was wondering if you had your lister and st5 running with let's say, a fridge,PC , maybe washer or what ever in your cabin or house,or garage, and it runs out of fuel or somebody shuts down the engine. while these appliances are on,since the engine is winding down, voltage is winding down, htz is winding down, does this damage the moter in fridge orPC or washer or anthing else that may have been on? I have witnessed brown outs from detroit Edison and people used to say unplug your fridge it will burn the motor up,since the voltage has dropped. brian

aq...Do you remember who was in power in the US when they lowered the highway speed to 55mph and enforced it rigorously?
Maybe someone will have the balls to do it again.  it won't be Hillary though  ::)     I remember, !973, in fact, the city streets were turned off,It was 40 cents a gallon in the US. Mr Nixon. I was 16 years old. Brian

You all know, Canada has always paid more for fuel ,gas or diesel. I lived in both countrys. Frankly I dont know how canadians do it, But  The good ole USA,is starting to payi, Americans really have had it good.Americans were never used to these prices.I remember as a kid when my mom and dad drove to Newfoundland in 1965,gas was 28 cents a gallon,in US, then when we reached Sydney, crossed the ferry to port aux basque, the price was 60 cents an Imperial gallon, My dad bitched, how do these Newfies survive? That was 1965. brian
