Listeroid Engines / Camshaft timing
« on: May 20, 2008, 12:16:32 PM »
Dear friends!

I will try to explain you my problem on the 24/2 Listeroid. Few months ago taper pin for Gear Wheel on the Camshaft was break when I started the engine. After that I had to take machine apart and changed the taper pin on the Gear Wheel. Now I want to construct the engine back. In the instruction manual I saw that governors on the camshaft and crankshaft have marks for proper "joying" governors between each other for properly working diesel pumps timing and valves. On my governors I can't find those marks, which are in instruction manuals. What I have to do? How can I find the properly cycle (opening & closing valves, pumps,...)?
Another thing: I changed taper pin on the Gear Wheel and now I have little space between Gear Wheel and camshaft. How can I solve the problem?

I'm looking forward for your replay.

With best regards,
Matevz

Listeroid Engines / Re: auto/emergency shutdown
« on: May 14, 2008, 07:48:09 AM »
Hi,

I emergency shut down my Listeroid with electro magnet (such a kind of device). Device is powered with 12V backup power (accu). Device pull up a small handle, which is prepared for shut down the engine.
If you need more info about my solution, don't hesitate with your questions!

Listeroid Engines / Lubricatig Listeroids
« on: October 15, 2007, 07:43:41 AM »
Hi!

I use my Poweranand 24/2 for generating electricity. Engine runs on 90% load. Before I start my engine I lubricated all moving things, after that I live the engine room for at least 24 hours.
I would like to know if anybody has experience how many hours could run engine without extra lubrication (rockers, valve bay,...)?
Somebody knows for automatic lubrication system, which is usable for Listeroids?

Thanks in advice for the advices and answers!

Listeroid Engines / Oil is all around
« on: August 01, 2007, 10:39:31 AM »
Dear Lister fans!

I'm running my new Poweranand 24/2 24 h/day on 90% load, for electric production. Engine works great, really like a big Swiss watch. The only problem that I see is a lot of black oil under the engine. I think that the oil comes from the main bearings and from valve lifter. What is wrong, what can I do? Maybe do I have too much oil in the engine?
Another question - what is the real volume of the engine oil - I think that 5,7 L is not enough for my engine!? Does anybody know for easier loading the oil into engine, I hate opening every time crankcase door!

Warm regards,

Lister Based Generators / Re: Listeroid Electric Start
« on: November 09, 2006, 08:05:36 PM »
Hi Mike and others!

I start my Lister 24/2 direct from the grid with my "big (18 kw)" asynhron el. motor, which is linked with a clutch. O.K. my Lister is grid tied and it is not for local net. I work with them only when the electricity is in the socket.
It is thing that work! I would like to show you images, if you want. So the problem is solved, no extra accus, starters,...

Btw Mike: how you will instal oil level? I'm looking forward for an idea!
