Generators / starting out making emergency electricity
« on: August 17, 2008, 01:07:20 AM »
I'm debating whether to get myself a 3600 rpm genset and tolerate it's noise and limited lifespan, or get a ST genhead and adapt it to my Lister SR3 diesel.  Anybody had direct experience finding and adapting GOOD ST gen heads? I'm in Connecticut, hoping to find out how things have gone for you folks going down this road.  thanks, all

Lister Based Generators / Re: Lister & Genhead are on the way

What do these ST genheads of 2.5 and 5.0 kw cost at this time?  I am thinking of one but still doing the research into permanent magnet alternators, etc.

thanks

Petteroids / Petter AC1

Does the AC1 Petter have a fuel return line back to the fuel tank?  One line from the fuel tank to the injector pump and one line back to the fuel tank?  Sound right?

thanks, guys

Petteroids / Re: What size?

Can a Petter engine run at 1200 rpm without fouling?  The 6.5HP AC1 engine was alluded to here and I'd sorta wonder if 1200 rpm is going to do good things for the engine.

Listeroid Engines / Tubing arrangement on Lister Petter AC1
« on: July 29, 2006, 02:24:19 AM »
I have a new, to me, AC1 engine and am unsure as to how to connect the fuel line from the  tank to the injector pump to the injector.  What is the gadget on top of the injector pump?  thanks

I've just found that the Lister Petter AC1 engine was made only in 1985.  The AC1W engine, it's precursor, was a water cooled engine made from 1970-85.

Am I correct in assuming that the AC1 engine was made by Petter first, then the merger with Lister occurred?  Perhaps the later models were the Lister Petters and the earlier ones Petters?

Listeroid Engines / Lister Petter AC1 fixed and variable rpm's
« on: July 12, 2006, 02:37:42 AM »
I just bought a Lister Petter AC1 and it presently is fixed rpm at 3600.  How does one change rpm's on this engine?  Do you need a special governor or some sort of alteration to the present governor?  Suggestions highly sought and hope you experienced folks can help me.  thanks
