Thanks! I love how it looks and sounds, but I didn't know about the "diesels are meant to be loaded all the time" part!

I'm planing on using this girl as a backup generator for my home... only problem is that my peak energy usage (everything on) is only about 33% capacity, so the new plan is modifying the resistive load I built so it monitors load values on the output and maintains at least 30% load, do you think that would be enough for a healthy engine?

Hi everyone,

About a year ago I found this awesome looking generator for sale, I've spent the better part of the year rebuilding the engine and now that I have that ready and running I'm moving to the Generator Head, the problem is that I haven't been able to find any information or manual for it.

I does produce voltage and rated output power however I would like to use it as my home's backup generator, which means I need to dial the voltage down.
It's currently producing 341V from L1 to L2 and same from L2 to L3.

The attached pictures are from the labels and the top where I think the adjustments need to be made, I would appreciate any info or tips you guys may have for this type of head.

Hi everyone and thank you for your help, just wanted to give you guys an update, I did the load procedure as instructed and it worked like a charm! it took me a while to get back to you because I had to build a load bank.

I did wait a little for it to warm up about 2 to 3 minutes.

Here is a vid of the results.

Thanks again!

Hi DKMC, I'll try the ring seating procedure as suggested and see what happens. So far I've checked the piston/cylinder clearance and the ring gap before assembly, the hone was done by reputable shop so I didn't think of checking it until now, I guess that would be my next step if the seating procedure doesn't help.

Thank you very much, I'll update the post with results.

Hi Everyone,

I have a lister HA6 which was just overhauled, I'm a little concern about the amount of smoke it's producing. I'm not very familiar with old diesel engines and I haven't ran this one for longer than 10 minutes after receiving it from the shop, can anyone tell me if this is normal?

Ambient temperature was about 15 to 17 celsius, at the time of this video the generator had been running for about 5 minutes with no load on the generator.
