General Discussion / Re: LEF UPGRADE PREPARE FOR OUTAGE
« on: January 29, 2011, 12:01:26 PM »
Fellow Lister enthusiasts,

Because the Forum is moving onto a new server, with a new address, I will be changing the name server records accordingly. However, DNS (name server) records can take up to 48 hours to refresh, so when you first try to access the forum after the migration, you may end up here, on the old server. The forum will have been replaced with a link to the new version - which will be on a separate temporary address.

PLEASE DO NOT ALTER YOUR BOOKMARKS.

Within 48 hours, everything will be back to normal, and it'll be like nothing changed.... except the version of SMF will be newer, and hopefully the site won't be prone to periods of unexplained - and often extended - downtime...

Please don't worry if the entire explanation above was gibberish to you... Just click the links when they say to click them, and don't change your bookmarks.

That is all.

spencer

why is his argument weaker than yours?

why is his post a spoof?

how do we know you are not a spoof?

seems to me if we have to accept you on face value, then we also have
to accept the other fellow on face value

as for the changfa, mine at least has an induction hardened liner, and it is hard
as the hubs of hell.

maybe the changfa can tolerate wmo better than a lister?

surely you aren't saying that is an impossibility?  are you?

i suspect your mind is made up and don't confuse things with the facts?

just because you don't like the results or observations of another does not make
your position correct and his wrong.

time to "man up"  and at least accept the possibility that there might well be another explanation for what you have observed.

what do you say?

the problem isnt the disk space its they are claiming we were taking up half the cpu usage which makes zero sense. i have been emailing them all day asking for assistance to download the database to move it elsewhere as the export function on the mysql isnt working right. they have totally ignored me so... not sure how much longer we will be up or what will happen. hopefully they will assist me with downloading the database so it can be moved

General Discussion / site down
« on: December 27, 2010, 02:01:59 PM »
i noticed the site was down this morning and checked with the hosting company that told me that we were hogging to much cpu resource. i optimized the tables in hope that will keep them from suspending the site for now. looking at the tables there appears to be about 300mb of informations stored here and we may have to delete some of the older threads.  that or i can move this site to a new server. please leave your thoughts below.

tnx, the admin

only 1 day left on the auction. if it doesnt sell it will be listed at a fixed price of $3000 until it sells.  so... if you want a great deal before xmas the reserve is only 2700 so bid now time is running out!

Lister Market Place (things for Sale) / ebay fees are insane
« on: December 16, 2010, 12:42:27 AM »
i was looking at the cost of selling a lister cs / genset on ebay... use to be they had a fee structure that got lower percentages the higher the selling price. now it appears they are charging a straight 9 percent no matter how high the price... sooooo... if you sell a genset for $3500 thats 3500 x .09 or $315.00 to sell your item! are they insane?

if you sign up at outlaw auctions you get a $25 site fee credit to your account. Sell a genset for $3500 and the fees come to i believe $12.75   which comes out of your credit leaving you still with a $12.25 credit.... in other words its free!

i recommend the site for anyone wishing to sell anything lister. leave a link here to the item and you will get traffic. i had around 300 hits on the genset and doubt ebay would have done better. if you are worried you wont get a good enough price put a reserve on your item

well... it did not sell ... so it has been relisted... so those that hoped for a chance to buy it still can. tnx
