Listeroid Engines / 12/2 Main bearing
« on: November 04, 2010, 07:09:29 PM »
Hi folks,

my Kissan 12/2 came with a splinter of a taper roller in the oil sump.

The engine has no abnormal noise when it's running and the crankshaft play is just a little.
The TRB look ok.

Maybe the splinter came from the dirty oil in the crankcase.

Would you recommend me to change the bearings?

Petteroids / 4.5HP petteroid exhaust smoke
« on: December 08, 2008, 01:55:12 AM »
my new 4.5 HP petteroid has just after 2 working hours much carbon deposit in silencer. The engine even smokes when it runs under no load.

Can anyone tell my how to fix this problem? First what I'll do is to check the opening pressure and spray of the injector. Maybe the the delivery time of the injection pump is wrong, too.

I realized that the compression is low compared to my Changfa, but the engine starts after the first attempt.

Can the low compression also be a cause for the massive carbon buildup? Should I remove some of the gaskets between the cylinder block and the crankcase to get a higher compression?

Other Slow Speed Diesels / See my dissassembled changfa Style engine
« on: January 01, 2008, 10:32:26 PM »

I stored my changfa-style engine at bad weather too long outside. After a few weeks the valves and the seats became rusty and the engine didn't start.  So I disassembled the engine to lap the valves and check the other parts.

Modified my sentences now a bit, I hope you  can understand it now.

Just look!

Other Slow Speed Diesels / long warming up period changfa engine required?
« on: November 04, 2007, 11:03:54 PM »

in the past I had a bad experience with my changfa style 175. After 3 minutes of warming up at low speed, i set the governor handle slowly at rated speed.
Some seconds later I noticed blue exhaust and a very high speed. I only could stop the engine with the decompressor. But it was too late: The piston and connecting rod bearing got stuck. The engine burned the whole lubricating oil. Maybe blown head gasket?

Do you also have the same problems with the engine caused by running it at rated speed when the engine is still cold?

Can you tell me how long do you let your changfa warm up?

And sorry for my bad English, I hope you  can understand me anyway.

Hello DIYer  :) ,

I have a Changfa Generator with 3-phase STC-12KW alternator.

My Engine has no electric start, so I want to use the the alternator for a short time as electric motor to start the engine. Will that be possible?
