Go to KEYT.com for live updates, Our family is safe and prepared, most are in construction and own water trucks and heavy equipment to deal with their neighbors and their own needs and are doing so. I only lived there for 4 years in the 60's and the 80's wife born and raised there. The conditions are the worst.

Listeroid Engines / Florida hurricane
« on: October 06, 2016, 04:32:12 AM »
It looks like  "rocket boy" "cujet" "horseless" and others are going to exercise their listeroids once again!  I hope they will tell how it goes, as their exploits got me into the listeroids. At 77 I've been thru several and some typhoon's to boot, none can be taken lightly! I think their exploits are why we do what we do and or are.
My prayers for those in peril

great pics, I see now why keel cooling won't work. Hope engine is proceeding as well. This should be in Tijmen's post. although if any one has listers and boats in the same picture I'm for it!

Generators / Gen Head resistance & inductance measurements
« on: April 08, 2007, 04:19:22 AM »
Today I measured a ST 10 KW head for the winding resistence and inductance.
Utilized a Fluke 189 for resistence. ( Corrected for meter lead loss.) Sencore LC 53 for the inductance measurements. All windings disconnected, rotor, ( Field) measured from common on the brush block.
Z windings, (feeding rectifier)-Resistence 3.23 ohms. Inductance-21.8 mil-Henrys.
Field windings, (at brush block common) Resistance 25 ohms Inductance 1.43 Henrys.I rotated shaft to insure brush contact.
Output windings (Stator) Resistence L1 to Neutral -.19 ohms, L2 to Neutral, .17 ohms. Note better meters are available to measure fractional ohms.
Output windings Inductance L1 to Neutral -1.52 mil-Henrys, L2 to Neutral-1.52 Mil-Henrys.
Some where some one wanted the resistence and some where else some one wanted the inductance.
Hpoe this helps.
