General Discussion / Please beware of this scam
« on: March 18, 2009, 04:19:32 PM »
I became a victim of a clever 'Eastern European' scam while out   shopping, near HUNTINGDON. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't   happen to you or your friends.

Here's how the scam works: Two seriously good-looking voluptuous 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping  into the boot. They both start   cleaning your windscreen. Their large firm young breasts almost falling   out of their skimpy T-shirts. It's impossible not to look.

When you thank them and offer them a tip, they'll say 'No' and  instead ask you for a lift. You agree and they both get in the backseat.  On the way, they start undressing, and both get completely naked. Then,   when you pull over to remonstrate, one  of them climbs over into the  front seat and starts crawling all over you, kissing you, touching you  intimately, and thrusting herself against you, while the other one steals      your wallet!

I had my wallet stolen January 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, and again on the 17th, 20th, 24th, and 29th. Also  February 1st, 4th, twice on the 6th, three times last Saturday and very  likely again this coming weekend.

So Be Warned!

P.S. Aldi have wallets on      sale for £1.99 each, Lidl are £1.75, Tesco are £3.99 and look better, but they're running out fast !

Original Lister Cs Engines / Red Hot
« on: September 27, 2008, 12:17:48 AM »
Does the piston crown ever get red hot?. I ask because ive taken the engine apart to change some parts and found some crusty oil inside the piston at the top. Methinks it is there because the piston crown is getting to hot.Is this possible?.The engine does seem to get tight when it has been running a few hours on max load.Thats between 2.8-3kw.

Generators / Knock in ST5
« on: July 06, 2008, 09:38:47 PM »
Had the gen lined up quit well with the lister but iam getting a knocking sound  from the gen.I believe the rotor is moving back and forth as when i put pressure on the shaft end the knocking stops. So i misaligned the gen to put a slight force on the shaft to keep it at one end, the slip ring end. Some advise would be welcome as to whether this is acceptable or not. Also why use c3 bearings?

Engines / Tight when hot
« on: February 24, 2008, 11:15:00 PM »
I seem to have a problem when the engine is hot.The piston gets tight when at the top of the cylinder.I was also getting some knocking which i could not get rid of with changing the timing.Took big end shells off to take a look and found a small amount of wear on the bottom shell. They are new shells, about 100 hours. This makes me think that the piston sticking is not my imagination.
Any advise would be welcome.
