Lister Market Place (things for Sale) / metro 6/1
« on: July 21, 2012, 06:07:48 AM »
I have a new Metro Premium 6/1, am looking to do some trading with it for a larger listeroid, new or used. I'd prefer a larger single, but would entertain a twin too, It's located in Iowa.I currently am running a Field Marshall 6/1 (back iin service today after a year off!!) and I really like it, but just not big enough to fully power my home. Also will be looking for a larger ST head, say 7.5 to 15 KW, thanks, Mike

Listeroid Engines / problem with fieldmarshall
« on: May 16, 2010, 09:44:35 PM »
Hi All. I've posted a couple times about our new off grid exerience, got a ? tonite.. We shut off the FM for oil check and sunday is laundry day,so we do that with the grid, we went to restart the FM and it has no, zero, compression. it shut down nomally, all fluids are good. I'm leaving for work now, and the boys are pulling off everything attached to the head so I can pull that in the morning. Before I do that, are there any suggestions about the problem or fix? I'd appreciate any ideas, thanks Mike

Lister Based Generators / update on "off grid today"
« on: March 28, 2010, 08:16:09 AM »
On Nov 18th we went "off grid" using a Fieldmarshall 6/1 and ST5, except for the hot water heater it worked out pretty good. We fixed the water heater problem by getting rid of it. This has been running on WVO since the first start up, and really doing great. I worry about the longevity of the FM, and really want to do this long term, so a couple weeks ago I got hold of an Amish gentleman back east, and ended up buying a Metro 6/1 from one of his partners in Missouri. Unlike the FM which has a radiator, the Metro came without one, however does have a water pump, so I think I'll try the 55gal drum cooler. Just wanted to say thank you for all the feed-back and learning information here, my wife, kids and I wear our "lister tee shirts" all the time, and are enjoying this alot. thanks again, Mike (ps, will be raising out wind gen soon to help out)

We went off grid last wednesday, 1 week today, fieldmarshall 6/1 with st5kw. the only REAL problem is our water heater, it's new (6mo) and 240V. has anyone wired one of the to 120V successfully? any ideas would be appreciated. the FM is doing a great job, and its on filtered WVO. thanks in advance.
