I spotted a cool ďBarnfind ď itís a 1940s original JP3 generator almost complete the huge old meter board etc... It was rescued from the dump about 20 years ago and had been in a shed unused for about 20 years before that ....

Does any in New Zealand or Australia have a cam gear for a CS, l was going to ďEutalloy the cracks in my cam gear but I would rather replace it.....

I have been applying penetrant to the govenor and trying to move it on the cam with a hammer and punch, I am not making progress and Iím concerned that I will damage the governor... so I have decided to remove the cam... Question...... what holds it in ? I have removed the pushrods and raised the lifters out of the way, there is obviously a retainer or something holding it in...

Hi..
I have carefully removed the governor housing and the shaft (not the cam) is seized,I can free that up but I see the mechanism that slides on the cam and the weights are stuck. Can someone tell me how to find the timing  marks as I want to remove the cam and get it all working so it will govern itself..

I have concluded from this that another CS that I know of has been retired because of over volt issues, Iím thinking it has similar problems and is just over reving .....
I look forward to some help with timing.......Daryl..

Hi..
I started work on my CS6 , yesterday the lifter that works the fuel was jammed on the top of the stroke so I rotated the crank 180 and carefully tapped it down with the pump off, but it is tight so Iíll have to take the cam housing off and dismantle it.. Also Iím not sure how to set the governor etc to start.. I donít think Iíll use the SOM itís not in good shape. I should be able to find a modern belt drive alternator.... :)

Hi.. Firstly thanks for including me on the forum.. I have been given a C/S with a startomatic alternator the serial number is a bit hard to read looks like..   CS 93111  spec 5/9/35  hp6  rpm650 . apparently it was running fine when put into shed 40 years ago, and it still turns over although the box ontop of alternator has corroded away.. Any suggestions on how to go about restore [ im a maintenance engineer but not familiar with Lister }......Thanks  Daryl New Zealand...
