Changfa Engines / Yanmar chp

By luck I have some time on my hands, I like to replace my 6-1 start o matic chp thats giving to much vibrations to use it indoors for one based on a yanmar TS 105.

Yanmar I bought I while ago as a genset 5 kw, to start with a good base I opened it for a quick peek inside. Turned out piston ran a bit hot, liner just needed some honing. To start off "new"I ordered new piston and liner with some gaskets from sunity taiwan. I think the set has nearly no running hours just lack of cooling water.

I scored a silent box for a small marine generator, brand new still in plastic, it should just fit snuck inside the box.

I like the lister 10 times better but it's like having a horse like a pet in your house, the yanmar more being like a hamster.

I'll try to post progress reports, it will not go fast due to more important stuff eating time.

I was pretty far with automation on the lister, arduino current measuring temperatures flow coolingwater. So hopefully I can just mount it to this one without to much trouble.
Need to think about some exhaust system with heat recovery absolute no noise and no dripping of condensing exhaust fumes at places you don't expect/want.
Thinking of putting the silent box on a raised frame and doing my exhaust 'scrubber'underneath.

I might need to order a new pully for the electromotor, it says 2400 revs max for the yanmar and that should give 1510 on the electromotor.

Yanmar has a throttle handle stop start run, I will replace it with a servo should also give me the ability to in/decrease power.
Electromotor is a dahlander two speed 1500 or 750. The tag plate was not there when I bought it but I think it is at least 8KW by the look at the size. The lister I always started on low revs and when it was running I would pop the breaker untill it reached 620rpm and then switch to the high rpm breaker.
If you 'drive'an electromotor you can use it as a generator.
For example if you read the tag and it says 3kw and 1470rpm, then when you dive it to 1530 you will generate 3kw.

It's a bit slow on the forum so I"ll post something. Few days ago there was a lister cs with a build on compressor for sale. There was a bit of 600E I think thats what it sold for.
Think that might have been a good investment. Was only online for two days and gone.

And there's a VA for sale not mine...

It's really amazing. For years there's nothing for sale... and then it rains. I was not looking for engines I have more then enough but I came across a listeroid 6-1 from 2010. it came from a tugboat they say. Asking price 300euro. It looks ok on the pictures except there's a hose from the crankcase breather to the intake manifold. And the starter handle is knackered.
The say they don't know it runs they just took it out of the tug.......allready gives you a feeling. They manage to lift 300kgs from a tug but don't manage to start it...

I am in doubt to make a rediculous offer but I have this gut feeling I am going to be stuck with it. Could be the first time in my lister history I made a few bucks on an engine or I need a new crankshaft ... or else and am stuck with another lump of steel.

Just to remind you, in theory I can have a 8 cilinder cs running, thats enough I suppose, with three of the cilinders being in very bad shape.

If I buy it is just to pass it on. If I can...
And for the coming time I don't really have time to work on engines.

Greetings lads,

I just bought the last engine untill I will sell some other thats a promise.  Few months ago I bought a 12/2 or10/2 wich was nothing but a heap of worn out parts and  rat poo.
Kept my eyes open and found a reasonably priced runner with 16/2 flywheels and magnetic aluminium pistons. According to the guy he took the top end from a just overhauled 10/2 with a broken crankshaft (30 years ago). I asked him 3 times about  the pistons yes aluminium, just checked it's some new kind of aluminium it's magnetic. Explaines why it was jumping around on the video he send me. Apparently also the cilinder heads are special the injectors are water cooled so firstdrain before you take them out.
First intention was to use it as a crankshaft donor for the other engine. but it's not that bad i gues so now I need a crankshaft and alu pistons.

Few years ago I did a fairly big order from anand india, it was really cheap but with fedexx and all the taxes it's was more then triple the price that I paid anand.
I was just wondering would it be hard to join up and order a partial container with other people in need of affordable parts. In my case I am talking about mainland europe you can pass parts on relative cheap. I think you could get parts at double the price as in India. Wich is not bad I think.

Next days I will try to upload some pictures.
