I have a lister field Marshall 6/1 with very few run hours just to test it. I was hoping to set it up as a generator, but just donít have the time. It is located in Bedford Massachusetts. $2,200 firm. It was though to start but ran great once it fired up. I also have a glow plug which I havenít installed yet that I will include. I figured it would help with winter starting.

General Discussion / decompression valve or glow plug?
« on: September 20, 2014, 10:53:30 PM »
I am fairly new to lLsters, and have a 6/1 Fieldmarshall. It has a plug in the block where the decompression valve normally goes. I plan on running it as a generator on a variety of fuels and I see advantages to both the glow plug and the decompression valve. I live in Newengland and the winters are cold. If you have any recommendations on which one I should use I would like to hear them and why. Thank you

I am looking for a Electric start conversion for a Lister CS engine, or a good way to make my own. I don't like the starters with the wheel on it as much as the real setup. Any ideas are appreciated thanks.
