I know this is way out there but i just remembered something.

A old British tv show The good life or The good neighbors

Couple in town go off grid and become self sufficient.

In the 3 or 4th episode He is showing his neighbor his diesel gen set run off pig dropings i think ?

Any way I didn't recognize the engine and it runs very slow, I wonder if any of yall knew or knew how to find out?

Lister Based Generators / Identifing generator head

Ok, I pulled the outlet boxes and removed the end cap. Here is the insided.

I hope some of yall will be able to help identify what brand of head this is, no plate or sticker.
Its a generator wound armature w 3 slip rings, 4 big field coils and 1 unused wire in the outlet box.

Lister Sr1 green paint under the yellow.
The adapter is red under the yellow.
Head is just primer it was said to be 4kw

Any and all information is appreciated.

Lister Based Generators / SR1 generator set help and identification

Hello I am new here.

I have a odd situation Basically I have a 1969 SR1 I am working on getting going after 25 years in storage.
I am in the USA South Mississippi and need all the good advice, parts sources and tips available.

I am about to pull a tractor trick. about a quart of stones , 1/2 gal gas and strap the tank to my mower wheel. Jack up the wheel and spin the tank slowly, then reverse for a hour or 2. Dump, flush and flush with alcohol. Then Red Kote it.

There was 1/2 gal of brown sludge in the tank, filter was drained but the tank outlet and beginning of the fuel line was plugged with trash.

How much does a standard fuel tank hold?

I have a fresh oil filter 20 micron and fuel filter 10 micron( parts man and 1/70 instruction manual), I figure to decompress and spin it a wile to flush the IP and injector before trying to fire it up. Or does that kill the fuel ?

But not sure if i should pull the screen out of it and change oil first, the oil looks new and i know it ran 2 hours in the mid 80's.

I do have concerns about this Ultra Low Surfer fuel. Others have premature IP problems on older motors not made with harden components. Though adding atf is said to help.
Do these SR's have hardened anything?

I need to find a 10 MT delco starter for it, Parts man does not list any delco numbers. It has a 25mt which i know is more than it needs and if i get a 3cyl... Though i would prefer ST's

The problem is identifying the gen head. Not tags or stickers and was suppose to be 4k, it was suppose to be 7hp too. I will get it back together in the next couple weeks and pull the gen cover and get more pic.

I rebuilt it back in the mid 80's. IIRC its 4 pole w slip rings and 2 field coils.
The org fields was bad and i sent them off to get copied. 1 coil was perfect and remarked. Unfortunately The guy didn't finish them and however did well the wires were way long and pointing different directions and un marked.

I could get just over 2200 watts, the owner never got back to me and it was never touched again until now.
Originally I tried to get the owner to just put a more modern head on it.

Look at the pics and give me a clue to what head this is. Plus all my questions.
