Listeroid Engines / 12/1 tear down

Ok Im about to tear down my Powerline 12/1 with about 10 hrs on it, looking for casting sand and such.  what is the best way to clean the inside of the castings?  Also should I paint the inside of the casting, if so what is recomended.

Lister Based Generators / In need of advice.

Ok guys i have jumped into the deep end of a great pool to be a part of ;D, now i need lessons.   :-[

I imported a 12/1 powerline Lister air compressor and also ordered the electric start kit and engine kit. Put it all together and all is running well.
Then i find out that i was supposed to tear it down and replace parts.  (from reading posts in this forum) is this right?
 I Did check the casing and found no voids full of casting sand nor any in the sump.  one main bearing  oiling tube was broken at the weld joint it has been repaired.

I will post some pics of the build when i get them into the gallery.

any advice would be appreciated

How well do the  NOS FLEETGUARD CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATER BY-PASS LUBE OIL FILTERs and those like them work for wmo filtration? Any problems using them?

Greetings all
I recently imported a 12/1 Powerline listeroid.  Attached it to a 10,000KW ST gen head.  Belt driven
!000 RPM on Engine 1800 RPM gen.
what kind of power should i be expecting from this unit?
what is the best place for the drive belts on these Lister,  on the flywheel or other pulley?
lots of questions not many answers.
have been playing with this set for about three months about ready to scrap the project and sell out.
