Ok, I'm back for a bit. Put the Machine back in the shop. Leaking oil from the the cracked lower oil pickup. Other than that and some dust and rust, all good.
Pulled a ton o parts to take to the polisher to get them prepped for new Nickel plate. And am trying my hand at cleaning the nuts and bolts with a tumbler to see if I can get them spiffy without taking too much metal away.
I haven't decided on what to do with them, Paint, Nickel, Bluing or some other such.
Then the BIG Kahuna!! The 1000# Generator. Should be pretty straight forward to Disassemble, Clean, Paint and Reassemble.
I've been Kicking Ass this Year.
Last Dec 31st My company Folded. They warned me Nov 15th and gave me 4 months Severance. I was 2.5 months shy of 30 Years!
So being 63 and not looking forward to Job interviews, I started My Own Company using my old company customers. What I do Is pretty specialized and you you can't just sell experience! The Old Owners are in there 80s and just want to sell everything including the building and not look back. So I have 3-4 years to make some real coin and help my other office guy learn the tricks. We have been working together for 25 yrs and he is smart and for the last almost 2 years has been learning the field.
So here I am learning Quickbooks and he is learning how to make a burner not hurt anyone.
The building is supposed to be here until the end of the year so I have to move fast and work 6/12hr days at the same time.
So there's the POOP!
And here's some pics.

Don't use either or starting fluid on a diesel. You will break things  make sure you have return flow from the injectors with no bubbles.and if it has it use the preheat

I really want to Finish this Project Before Displaying It. A lot of Nickel Plating. A correct size Tank. Possibly The Radiator and Water Pump!! No water leaking from the cover studs(I didn't seal them:music) and the Gen end and a slate panel for the electrical Works. A fuel Tank and some other things.
But I am happy with my Progress and am looking forward to Displaying It when Finished!
Of Course the questions will continue and I will post it all on this thread.
Thanks to everyone for helping me get this far!! Pretty Cool!!
125VDC @ 480RPM!!

Got it outside ran it a few times hooked up the water and forgot to put a drain in the water tank we got control voltage around 125 whenever I want it when the governor linkage isn't falling apart so that's about it for this summer I don't think I'm going to bring it to Cool spring it's just too much work right now and I'm beat. Over the winter I'll pull the Gen end and redo it completely and then next year I'll bring it to the June show. I'm still going to come out for this year/ next week. But I'm not bringing anything I'm just going to come and check it out. Be good for me to figure out what the hell's going on anyways without the personal distraction. Enjoy!

The gen went 220vdc with the governor not set up
Pulled the governor down and got it at 125vdc
Running at around 600rpm for that
More testing this weekend.

Once I flesh the Operations out I can Find Its Limitations!. The Internal Fire Museum in England Has a similar unit with the data Plate on the Bed plate! My Bedplate has holes for that data plate. It was removed probably with control panel and other circuity! Dang I would LOVE to have that  Stuff! But will work with what I have! I will email Patrick at Stationary Engine Magazine(which is now defunct!) and see if he can get a pic of the plate for me!
Then I can make a copy and stamp it for my parameters!

All good suggestions!!
But I have to be able to understand it's operation. And Limitations!
So the testing will continue! I am Just so Happy It Is running and That Is a Huge Step for Me!!

I haven't done anything to check the speed, and I haven't messed with the governor either. So those are the next steps aside from getting a fuel can on it for continuous running for the testing and such. only putting a 1/4 cup in at a time so far to check for bad noises and to make sure she is pumping oil! So far she is oiling and no bad noises that I can tell.
It is DC so I'll try too slow her down to 110 or 115vdc and see what the speed is.
Very Interesting!!

There is no RPM or HP on the tag
And no Voltage tag on the gen end
Doing it all by Braille :)
