I'd be glad it was locked up in a building when that happened!

If it was nearby I would go look at it and make an offer.      The worst he could do is say "NO".       It doesn't look like it is TOO dear to him though.

Still VERY reasonable,    if bidding doesn't go nuts before the auction ends!

Listeroid Engines / Re: Running a Listeroid on Bio-Gas (Methane)
« on: February 27, 2012, 02:45:18 AM »
Tom,   is bio-gas high in sulfur?      I'm the first to admit that I'm no chemist.      I saw where a guy was trying to produce bio-gas from food scraps with poor results,   so he switched to cow manure with very favorable out come,   and cow manure I HAVE.      In abundance.      I know road diesel has been forced to reduce sulfur,    and I get worse fuel milage than before.      I would love to convert waste into energy.

Listeroid Engines / Running a Listeroid on Bio-Gas (Methane)
« on: February 27, 2012, 02:25:40 AM »
I was reading about producing bio-gas (methane from cow manure digestion) and was wondering if anyone has ever tried this as a fuel or an injection combined with diesel or WVO or anything else on a CS type diesel.       I've seen some posts on trying natural gas or LPG,   and was just thinking out loud.     Anyone with experience/success with this type of thing?    I guess I could just buy a tri-fuel generator that's already prepped to use natural gas,    but it wouldn't have the life expectancy I need.

xyzer,   is this your system?      NICE, NICE, NICE!    I REALLY like this a lot!   Can I get more photos and maybe some measurements and details on how you did this?      I am no welder,   but I have a friend that welds roll cages for race cars and such that is going to do it for me.      Anything you could do to help me avoid years of trial and error would be greatly appreciated.      This would be PERFECT for my needs at our place.

Thanks,
Cowboy

I think that guy's name should be "Lucky" right now,   but I'm pretty sure it will change to "Lefty" sooner or later!

Ebay actually canceled my auction because I said that if someone wanted to use PayPal they would have to pay the 2.9% fee it would cost me!   Their loss,   I sold it anyway.    Dieseldawg,  I WOULD have been interested in a load of hay to trade about 4 weeks ago, but I bought some.      I'm ALWAYS scouting for more hay.      What do you have and where?   You can send personal message with info.

Thanks,
Cowboy

I hear you guys.    If I had a dog to die on me I could write a hit C&W song!      My wife and I are both allergic to having any animal live here that we can't eat.      At least with cows we can eat our mistakes!

Thanks Dieselgman,

I think what I'll do is if anyone off the forum wants it I'll go with the $2600.     On eBay I'll try to go with the $3000 for added fees and having to deal with all that.    If anyone here wants to talk about it please contact me and we can work out the details.    I'll be listing it on eBay on Sunday night at about 9:00 pm Central time.

Thanks again,
Rick

To be honest with you guys,   and it could be all the hay balers, sickle bar mowers, brush hogs, etc. that I've been around,  but the kindling stick maker doesn't look that dangerous to me.    There seems to be enough room between how far the blade goes down and the deck (looks like about 6 inches or more) for even the most ham-fisted hand to go there while maintaining distance from moving parts.      I would keep my palms flat on the deck and hold the wood low.     Just don't get between the wood and blade!     That is of course,  for personal or family use ONLY.     If hiring outside help you would need a guard and some sort of tongs or other device to hold the wood with.     The John Deere 14T wood splitter on the other hand looks kind of like a hook searching for an arm to live on.     I've had a couple of 14T's and sometimes they weren't even the most confidence inspiring balers all in one piece,   let alone opening them up and setting lots of moving parts free like that!

Happy Thanksgiving folks!     I'm in the Houston, TX area.     About 45 minutes north.      I'm really hoping that I can get about $2600 for a running system with cooling tank and all.     Really want to split the line to where I'm getting a good deal and so is buyer.    Every extra dollar will be helpful.      It's low hours and runs good.     If you already have a facebook page you can just put in Cowboy's Listeroid and it should get you there.     The link was working last night,   but I am far from an expert computer guy!

Don't eat too much turkey!
