Not a redstone. Redstones have 2 flywheels.

Yes Glort, I plan to plumb the thing in with the woodboiler's storage tank. I figure that if the lights go out, I might as well get all the bang for my buck that I can. Besides, I scored a couple of super cool antique brass and copper shell and tube exchangers, I wouldn't want them to go to waste.

Hey Bob! Good to hear from you! I had kept tabs on you and was aware that you had gone 'way up North, I think we had even corresponded after your move.
You seem to be the Guru of slow and slower when it comes to engines and getting by with less.
At any rate Try Gary at Diesel Electric Service, dieselgman here on the forum. He is a Lister dealer has a place in Kansas and a place in Alaska. He is an importer of listeroids, and I think he still has a few Dursley originals in rebuildable shape.
Good luck!
Ron in Tennessee.

Here is his website with contact info

Sorry!  The Great Walla Walla Xing Dong is a hopper cooled Xing Dong S1100 driving an ST12
My avatar is a tiny picture of it.
For some silly reason it just reminded me of the old song about the Witch Doctor( oo EE oo AhAh walla walla ding dong) and I appropriated
and bastardized it :o
Glort, my 1115 has one of the conversion plates.  I plan to plumb it in with a shell and tube heat exchanger.

Tote up another fellow green with envy.

Keep it smoking!

Hi Casey, hopper cooled engines Redstone, Changfoids, and just about all the old Antique Hit and Miss engines use evaporation
to cool, the water actually boils in the hopper, so they run at close to 212 degrees. The Lister(oids) circulate coolant like more modern
things cars, farm tractors, trucks and the like.  The only downside to hopper cooling, my opinion only, is that you have to babysit the things. During power outages here when I run The Great Walla Walla Xing Dong, I am up and out every hour or two filling the hopper, and just generally checking on things. It is just not a start it and forget it proposition.
Hope this helps.

I thought (oh ow brain pain) that Redstones had only one flywheel, or one small and one large or something?
Never mind I have probably drifted away into an alternate reality or something.

PS. Yes I have lost my mind, I went and watched a video and the Redstone does indeed have a pair of flywheel that look to be nicely matched.
Now if I can just figure where that other brain fart I had came from :o

Hey Henry! Good to hear from and you glad to see you are still kicking around. I can't help but ask about your avatar, what is that thing?
It sort of looks like a Tiny Tiger, at least that is what I think I remember. 850 or 900 watts or so IIRC, I have one somewhere that I acquired with my Roid, and my 1115 genset.
  Maybe I am remembering wrong?

So help me, I have seen small block chevys built in the same conditions that ran for years.
Well, I have been around a few hillbillys in my time.
