Thanks for the very detailed injector removal process Combuster.

I found this...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150354699729 which I bought and that should help me with rpm.

Engines / Measuring RPM
« on: July 01, 2009, 10:32:13 PM »
Hello All and Happy 4th (USA) Holiday,

My two questions today are:

1. How to measure RPM on Lister ST1 engine?

2. How does the injector on a ST1 come out? Is it "pressed" in or must I "unscrew" it out?

TIA

Cutting torch heat, some grunting and the bolt is off. It is clock wise. Now just got to get the flywheel off. Seems like more heat and more grunting.

No this is legit. Canneries around Alaska press salmon for their oil and filter it then combine with diesel to form a hybrid fuel.

I made some progress in dismantling my Lister/Lima genset.

First made a table to hold the genset from some scrap metal http://www.flickr.com/photos/33649991@N04/3672028903/. Then took off gen head cover http://www.flickr.com/photos/33649991@N04/3672029083/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/33649991@N04/3672837718/. Cleaned with hot water and dish soap made sure water was less than 8.5pH. Cleaned up well http://www.flickr.com/photos/33649991@N04/3672029131/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/33649991@N04/3672028945/. Didoes tested per manual, shall reuse. Inside looks almost new http://www.flickr.com/photos/33649991@N04/3672837860/

My big question is...... Is this bolt cw or ccw http://www.flickr.com/photos/33649991@N04/3672837900/

TIA.

Generators / Lima MAC 280 frame

Hello and Happy Father's Day to All

I just picked up a ST1/Lima genset. I've found plenty of Lister parts and spares, but am having trouble finding parts for my Lima. I have found the Marathon web site, an operating manual for the 280, but no parts manual or web site for Lima parts.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Engines / Re: Guess at ST1 Serial Number

I'd say you are right AdeV. My ST1 is built in 1978, the -15 is a build number.

Thanks for the link Peter.

Engines / Guess at ST1 Serial Number
« on: June 18, 2009, 05:36:57 PM »
Hello All and Good Day,

I just purchased a ST1 w/Lima MAC 280 Frame generator. The serial number on the engine is 10115ST1A28-15 which I interpret as 10 = 1973 year built; 115 is that number of engine built that year; ST1A is model of engine single cylinder and anti-clockwise; 28 is build number and 15 is operating rpm.

Am I close?

TIA
