Waste Vegetable Oil / Re: Looking for a centrifuge

mobile bob, i have an alison truck auto trans i am using the converter as a starting point for the big alumn bowl. as you know, it splits w/bolts and most of the machine work needed would be touch up to mount to double row face flange bearing. i plan on feeding from bottom through quill and  stub shaft and out flow through the top in simalar fashion. this will be used for waste oils. blink

comp, bolted joint, yes, on a 250k in a building. how much weight do you want to hang on that little ex flange? the ex sys on almost anythink has to be at least removable and dismantlable w/o a cutting outfit. something that will not happen if a bozo assembles the sys w/clamps and crushes all the joints. blink

compic, try taking all that apart to perform serv. work and reasembling w/o repurchasing all the exaust parts. p.s. use anti-sieze compound on all joints and fasteners. blink

quisp, try the stainless band clamps w/ the step molded in for flex tube to pipe connection. seal well,do not crush the flex,5 bucks a piece, and they disassemble and reuse. never use the old style clapm again. blink

m/b, by the by, i belted my 8 pole gen to the 195. nothing permenent, just clamped down on my t- slot lay-out table. running eng@1330 rpm to maintain 60 cyc. gov seems to be quick to respond w/o hunting or lag, i tryed dif combos of elect heaters and heavy pedestel grinders in an effort to make it misbehave to no avail. this is going home to heated garage for stand by. blink

jcover, a centrifuge minimizes abrasives,it will not eliminate them. it will only buy time. do you have a manufactured centrifuge or a homespun unit? blink

jcover, a cust of mine burned heavy furnace oil in a M/B 300d by cutting w/2oil. the inj pump was wrecked in less than 6 mos. i believe the heavy oils are abrasive if not heated and spun. also the small engs must meter minute amounts w/o using seals on the plunger and barrel. blink

cap, i think a york comp. is a pos. the macks got rid of them in favor of the screw types some time in the 90s. also try a com. hvac contractor for a servicable used belt driven comp. blink

diesdave, good luck on new eng. glad to hear no sand. with cam cover removed, check to see the casting flashing removed below crank bearing.if not, the gear drive compartment will trap up oil and the gov would have to run submerged in lube oil. check gov real carefully. blink
