Hi I’m looking for information on a Lister B56 stationary engine 3.5HP
Serial number 72555
RPM600
Looking to see if I can identify when it was manufactured and likely usage
Many thanks

B56 Is not a model number to my knowledge? However 3.5 HP ant 600 RPM makes sence as. CS 3/1. Are you certain you read the tag correctly. Post everytbing on the tag or a clear readable picture of it. If it is a CS 3/1 that serial. umber places it in 1949

B56 may be a casting number somewhere, these often get confused with model numbers.
Small engines like that would drive water pumps and gensets for starters

Hi thanks for replying
Please find pictures hopefully

I understand it may be called a lister junior I think it was used as an electrical generator I’ve posted two pictures I can’t see them listed though

Ah, I never thought about it being a gasoline fuel engine.
. Yes it is a model B spec 56. My serial refferance dates it between 1926-1929. For some reason tbe years between are not broken down.

If you search for Doreen Edgington plus Lister records I belive she is still providiing a service since here husband Davis passed. If so she can tell you when and where it was shipped and to what agent or buyer.

Oh dear, how easily we forget and especially easier when it is something a bit rare. Nice engine, hope you can track down the history and get it running again
