Title: Lister clones from China?
Post by: bigbad on August 20, 2021, 02:27:13 PM
I have read through a lot of posts on this forum and have seen references to lister clones that are made in and sold from China.  I have searched Alibaba and madeinChina.com and could not find anything.  Are they sold through some other medium?

bigbad,

China has never made Lister clones.
They are made in India.
Rajkot, India to be precise.
They are no longer allowed for import into the USA.

This is what the Chinese, make. From very good,  right through to bloody terrible. Clones of Japanise small diesels.

I love the Lister in my boat, and the the generator on the house, but a good one of these isn't to bad at all.

I like the Changfa water cooled clones. Once they are checked out and reworked if needed, they hold up very well.

About boat engines,

Here is something that might interest Chinese diesel lovers.

I like the R175 model.

I think it might be available to purchase the drive without the engine.

And, it should be legal to buy in the US.

Yes, the Changfa water cooled diesels are amazingly tough and durable.
