Title: Oil for LR1

Hi

Just finishing rebuilding of my LR1 and I would like to know what type of oil I should use?

The manual says SAE 20/20W or SAE 10W

Any recommendations?

Lister originally recommended an SAE 20 detergent oil for temperate use.

Personally I would use a multi grade detergent.

What Ihave ound with grades of oil is it ill depend on the temperatures in your area. SAE20 is suitable for cooler climates and SAE30 for warmer climate. As mentioned today most oils will work for you so a dieasel oil that is easily available to you is as good as you need.
