Title: WVO / Methanol
Post by: veggie on October 04, 2019, 10:34:19 PM

Anyone ever blend WVO with Methanol instead of gasoline?
Say... 75% WVO and 25% Methanol.

How did it work ?

I guess it will blend somewhat, since methanol is used in the glycerin wash process.  But why not gasoline, which is a lot cheaper then methanol  (in my area)

thanks Glort,
Good to hear from you again.
I just scrapped my Biodiesel reactor so BioD is not an option. As many have found out, it's messy, time consuming, uses chemicals too dangerous for my residential space, and has a messy waste stream (methanol/glycerin mix).

What about this idea, ... when I add a water injection system to my Listeroid, perhaps adding Meth to the water would be a good combustion and cleaning additive. I have heard of many people running a meth water mix in their turbo diesel trucks.

I've been runing methanol in my WI system, but only in winter as an antifreeze. Runs great, that might be a good way to use your methanol.
