Oldengine site says made '54-'68?  So not even particularly old

Just thought I'd mention it in case it is someone's wet dream  :)

And, just as a comment - I suspect the people who are interested in old engines are all quietly dying out?  I see lots advertised here.  All the common ones like the NZ-built Andersons and all the old petrol Listers fall into the "can't give 'em away" category.  I see endless adverts for the magnetos for these old engines - nobody is buying them.  CS Listers still sell well as 5 or 6/1 and twins - but 3/1s are hard to sell unless the are pretty mint.  I think the market is just slowly dying off?

Hey Mike, what a beauty. I think you may be right about the decreasing interest in these magnificent relics of a bygone age. Us old timers struggle to do the work and the youth have no interest in learning. I guess if I was a young bloke now I probably wouldn`t be that interested either, much more instant gratification to be had from online dating and pornography.

I may have to look at buying a boat and collecting some of this memorabilia to return to Australia where the market is still solid.

FWIW here's an indicator of where the market is at:

A $1 reserve auction is the true indicator of an item's value, IMHO

This 6/1 is complete, turns over, has compression, and was somewhere easy to collect - went for $350

Sounds more like it to me, Mike.

I paid £220 for mine, in a similar state, about 4 years back. out of Monmouth, Wales.

I'm still doing online porn, but struggling to find a, 'EDate' with an interest in 'Between the Wars' diesels, well apart from a bloke in Oz who's been stalking me for ages, once he finds out I'm not Welsh and have no interest in sheep he'll back off I suspect.........

Stef I have two friends who are (completely independent of each other) both migrants from Yorkshire to New Zealand.  One is from Barnsley; the other from Rotherham.  We like to drink beer and play with motorcycles together.  Both have confided to me - re the other:  "they're sheep-shaggers over there you know . . ."  Maybe it's a small-town thing?  Cheers

Hey Stef, I do hope you aren`t talking about me. I lived in in Monmouth wales in the 1980s I now live in Oz. I can categorically state that I have no predisposition towards sheep or diesel engineers , welsh or otherwise.

If you ever catch up with the stalker do let me know so I can find the headlines in the local paper, I`m hoping for something along the line of: "Diesel fitter fends off sheep shagger with Lister CS starting handle"
