Title: Sort of Treasure Trove
Post by: lev-l-lok on March 28, 2015, 04:44:21 PM
The Following Engines are for sale, we've had them for 6 or 7 years, with minimal progress. Pictures are posted in the Lister Gallery under LEV-L-LOK
Lister 6-1, Ser # 248513 Start-O-Matic, w/ Cast Iron Base Plant #10581, and Generator #624S1 K, circa 1937. Engine crankcase cleaned, run about 1-½ hrs after cleaning. Started easy, no fuel tank.
Lister 6-1, Ser # 2179514, Block repaired behind pushrods, ran when acquired, don't know about now. Has 1 Solid flywheel and 1 for belt.
Lister Gasser D-602 Spec 26DH 1-½ hp, 700 rpm. Ser #161583. Seems to be all there, haven't tried to run it.
Lister 4 cyl., Ser #4000556LPWS4A001. Very low hours, used as prototyping engine. On nicely fabricated test stand, with Alternator & Starter.
Metro 6-1, Stripped never run, new crank and gear, and Glistan Generator 3Kw
Last but not least.
Changfa ZS-1115GM Ser # 731443 3/1, w/Fuking 10Kw Generator Ser. # 0310016 and Lovejoy LG-150 and flywheel adaptor from George a long time ago. Never run by me, but turned over every 6 months.

Sorry to see them go, no time to play anymore. Pictures in a couple of days or weeks. U pick up or arrange crating and shipping, were in 60152.

Ahhhhhhh.

The hard part.  Putting a price on old friendships.

Best wishes to buyers and seller.

VDub and all.
Not having pricing leaves us at your mercy, after I post some pictures it may encourage folks to reply or discuss more.

No offense meant, but many people are not comfortable with pricing another man's belongings.

Ok, OK.

I guess I should have included something about your facing reality and giving these tools a chance to make others happy.  I wish I had the good sense to sell all the crap I've got cubby-holed away just to be carted off to nowhereland when I die.  Sanity is not keeping much of what you haven't used in three years.

Best wishes (I did write that) on your adventure.

Casey

Guys,
No offense taken by any of your comments. The reality of the situation is that the 3 Listers were imported from England, so realisticly we can't hope to recover our investment after 6 years. Also realistically we want and hope that the engines will yet see a resurrection. Additionally we have 2 small water pumps, and a galvanized coolant tank with brass fittings and correct cover w/ vent hole, Lister we think, sure looks right. Any reasonable offer will be entertained.
Pictures tomorrow, hope their of sufficient quality to provoke interest. Yes it is difficult to have suck reality bit you, but we realize like many of us, that we only live so long, and much of our stuff will go to some scrapper, hopefully not these engines. Have a good evening.

Nice looking collection there! Does the Start-O-Matic 6/1 also have a frost damage repair on the cylinder?

Dieselgman,
There is a plate w/ many bolts behind the pushrod area, ( same area as other 6-1 ) I would expect this was to repair frost damage as well, It does appear to be well done and almost appears stock.

Thanks for looking,
Paul

Yes, that is what I was wondering about. All too common having them freeze up and break in the winter time. We have plenty of the old Listers around here, but if for any reason you cannot sell your trove, please let me know.

Do you still have the start-o-matic?
