someone needs to jump on this, if only I lived in canada
CHANGFA 16 HP KEY START DIESEL ENGINE CHANGFA 16 HP KEY ST (http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHANGFA-16-HP-KEY-START-DIESEL-ENGINE/281382672250)
THIS auction is for a Changfa 16 HP Diesel Engine with key start . This engine is new . I was going to set it up to be used with waste cooking oil instead of diesel and use it to charge a large battery bank . It is water cooled and had a water tank but i was converting to be used with a radiator instead .it weighs about 400 lbs . As you can see in the pics most of the work is already done . My only problem was i did not have a place to run it because i live in an apartment building . I paid over 1200 for the engine alone .
I need to get rid of it ASAP . I dropped the price by more than half .

Going to a good home soon where she will continue to be loved, appreciated and coupled to a 10KW 3 phase generator.. Now to figure out how to hoist it from floor level into the back of the truck? My wife is going to be so ticked. Better get the engine coupled to the generator asap and hope the power goes out soon after.

YES! That smooths things ever so nicely! We had a nice long 58 hour outage right after I completed my 1115/15KW unit and now the wife always asks me if I have tested it lately to be sure it works ;)

Yes, nothing like a power failure to get the wife to see your way of thinking wasn't so bad after all,lol.

Congratulations, can't imagine how someone could bail on something that cheap, erm, I mean free.

Now that the EPA and the Canadian "department of whatever" ??? have deemed these hobby machines the prime cause of famine, pestilence, war and climate change :'(. Interest and business in all these small engines has dried up except for hard core tinkerers :angel:.
Prices have dropped to near scrap around here :(.

Same here, there is always a few used ones at the consignment auctions. Even the real Kubotas and Yanmars dont bring much, anything else brings scrap unless brand new in box and they have a hard time getting $2-300. I laugh when I see one on fleabay for $2-3000 :)
Why? Here is what you will hear from those who brought them in and used them which around these parts, the Amish
They were Noisy, Short lived, Hard to start and no parts. That was enough but what sealed the fate of them AND Lister/Petters and both the CS and Listeroids plus all other other high quality small diesel engines was the one two punch of $4 diesel fuel and the arrival of $85 Honda clones. There is practically zero diesels under 25HP in operation any more around here. All being replaced by Hondas and the Lifan clones. Those that are running small diesels for chore engines is because they are running some sort of waste oil for fuel but when the engine needs repairs they dump the entire program for a Honda or clone.
Other communities have stuck a little more with slow speed diesels depending on the local dealers and service levels but around here they are mostly just curios and relics with the only one bringing any money at all is the occasional CS that comes up for sale.
