Title: KOEL quality or more smoke
Post by: Doug on June 22, 2006, 02:56:57 AM
I've spoken with KOEL, the subject of Lister engines hasn't come up because I'm fishing around the HA series, thats a clone of a Deutz FL*912W. They already tell me that want into this market, but I have yet to hear anyone who owns a KS6 ( 6/1 ), a DM10 ( AV2 Petter ) or HA ( 912 ).

Has anyone even seen a KOEL engine.

Some quick facts KOEL built the first Listeroid under liscence from RA Lister in 1945.
Firts Petter AV1 1949.
Production agreements with several Easte German engine manufacturers in the 1960's
Agreements with Toyota and Briggs and Stratton in the 1990's
They produce engines from 3 to 10,000 Hp and are the single biggest rpoduce in India and hold the largest market share for engines.

And not a bloody peep out of them or about them until now....

I know nothing about Kirloskar, but Mamed from Iran (who hasn't posted in some time) apparently had bad experience with them in Iran, he warned against dealing with them in one of his posts.

Interesting they offer warranty information up to two years on the RV2 19hp engine. They don't give much in the way of technical info.
