Title: Ac1 Petter Camshaft
Post by: gary_o on December 24, 2012, 02:39:07 AM
Hi,I have annother project engine i could use a hand with.One is an early AC1 ser#AC1 5362 clockwise rotation,the other is a later AC1 ser#AC1 3702192AC1c00 also clockwise rotation.
Both were for parts and am putting one together from the 2,i am rebuilding the later series 2 engine and come to find out the camshaft is bent(must have been dropped on the camshaft extention shaft),can i put the earlier cam in the later??
Any help would be appreciated.

Gary

Your suggestion will work, however be aware that the valve timing between series 1 and series 2 engines is slightly different.

Also see this item: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Petter-camshaft-/150968215041?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item2326682601

It may be of use to you if you can confirm it is right item.

Is there a way of correcting the valve timing,do you mean adv or retarding the cam?
I have however contacted the E-Bay UK listing you forwarded for a part number.
Thanks
