I have a Power Line 12/1 1000rpm I purchased several years ago to go over and make into a generator set. My back has been bad for about 13 years now and it's obvious that I won't be able to get to it. This one will need to be gone through for sand, voids (flywheels), idler gear and rocker arms plus what ever has degraded during the sit time. It includes the engine, muffler, flat belt pulley and manual/tools set. If you can pull up in front of my carport and load it up and drive away, it's yours. I want to see it go to a home where it can do some work. I'm in North Central Florida.

WOW!!!
I live on the complete other side of the country (and ocean) or we'd know each other in the morning.. What a screaming deal! And on Friday. "Honey, We'll have to baptize the baby next weekend."
Who says Christmas only comes once a year. Great move.

Maybe next time we'll have a Lister Engine Forum raffle. ::)

If my wife wouldnt have lost her job this week. then i could justify the drive that would cost me $600 in fuel plus 2 nights in a hotel.

Come On!
This has been on this site for 24 hours and it's still available?
What's going on that I'm missing?
Casey
bitsnpieces1: This is scary. Is it crated as well? Cause I'm really close to jumping into the water.
-
I'll take it! Personal message sent. What equipment will I need to get it on my trailer? Please contact me.

I have one person (Houston, Texas) who contacted me once. Haven't heard again. I got the crate sides pulled off but no furthur. They are still here and could be put back on. Only thing missing is the oil bath air filter. It makes my heart ache, but, i'm not going to be able to do anything with it. I'm having to reduce my things by a lot. Rather than fuss with trying to sell it I'd rather get it to a good home.

Got another nibble. Will get back with you.

Cashflo ,
why not come to india for a vacation and take one from here @ USD 175 each hee hee

It's really first come, first serve. Best bet seems to be from Texas. I can wait a bit for it to go, so no incredible rush.
-
I could probably come as soon as this week if you would like. I'm pretty well open.

Can I call you?

Looks like it's taken now. So, everbody just hang in there for a bit.
-
Ok it does have a home. It'll be going to Texas, for good purpose.

Rats
missed out on this deal
It could have had a home in New Orleans
-
Cowboy > are you will you be the new owner?
Congrads to whomever grabbed it :D
-
I'm the other Texan who inquired. I just couldn't justify (to my wife) $500 in fuel and three days on the road for this. If it had been just a little closer...........

Dont think they will let me bring it on the plane as a carry-on

Look at it as credits to be cashed in later. 'Yes dear, I'd love to go to the re-premier of "The Sound of Music" but it's so far to drive. You did say it was in Florida didn't you?' ;D
Casey
Don't feel too bad I was ready to call shippers for a project in Washington state.

If you are carrying it, there is no one going to stop you, except the Terminator !

I just got home from Florida very early this morning. It took 1822 miles, 3 days, 2 nights, 12 double cheese burgers, 4 egg mcmuffins, about 20 Cokes, 10 bottles of water and around 140 gallons of diesel and I'm back home with this engine. I can hardly wait to tie on a lobster bid, grab a bag of tools and tear into this thing. I must say that bitsandpieces1 is a great guy and we just can't thank him enough. Thanks to my wife for being so understanding also. I just hope I can do his engine justice with my limitted experience and knowledge! I'll keep you posted.

Well I think you are at the right place to get it all figured out! Best of luck!

Cowboy,
Good luck with the engine. I was just reading this forum when I saw the free engine post. I tried to register to get the contact info, but it took a number of days to get approved. Membership does have privileges. Someone was even traveling from FL to our farm with an empty trailer. The stars did not line up this time, but I am ready for the next time.
I do have my eye on a parts kit project, so I should have sand, oil, and cheap paint under my finger nails soon.

Kinda kickin myself for not taking up on this. I didn't actually realize how much it was worth at the time. >:(

Did it get picked up? If not I live pretty close and can be there really soon!!!! I would LOVE to have another Powerline engine. How did I miss this......... ???

I am still feeling empty inside...... :'( I was laid up after disc replacement surgury when this came up....must be why I did not see it. Still would love to have another Powerline Listeroid to keep my 6/1 company and run my central A/C while the 6/1 runs the rest of the house.
-
We could probably add some Anand (Powerline) product to our next order if that was of interest to you. Not certain we can get them to cooperate with all the hoops that must currently be jumped though.

Thanks Gary, I will keep this in mind.

If things ever get back to normal I will be able to finish this engine/generator and get it into operation. It seems I spend all my time fighting the drought and heat stress trying to keep my cows alive. We have had to spend THOUSANDS of dollars buying hay during the time they should be grazing on on green pastures. I still need to find the right belt pulley for the gen head. Who has the best pulleys? Anyone want to buy a couple of cows?

My original Lister 8/1 is almost home, made it into the port of Houston last week. I am out on the road for 8 days and will be picking it up when I get home. Then the fun begins, build a base, figure out the cooling system and belt the generator head up. I am getting the pully for it from George at Utterpower.

Hopefully the drought ends soon.
Folks are coming in to NM to buy alfalfa for their TX herds, but the drought is hitting us hard this year too. Lower Rio Grande conservancy district cut off irrigation water July 1, we still have it in the Middle Rio Grande district. But even with irrigation water the heat is stunting alfalfa growth. Yield is about 60% of previous years. Only good thing about the drought is weeds are not growing.
-
Cowboy, I hope next year will be better. I bought two pulleys from George at Utterpower and they were really nice. Sounds like the 12/1 should be set up to pump water on the farm.
Jetpilot, good luck with the Dursley 8/1. You are making alot of us really jealous.
