Title: New Lister Owner
Post by: rleonard on March 28, 2006, 06:46:27 PM
I got bit  by the bug...Hard....
Yesterday I brought home a nice used Lister 16-2 engine.  Probably a mid 70's built engine in service for a number of years in the local Amish community.  The engine was replaced for something electric start and with a smoother power.  It was claimed to be affecting the driven woodworking equipment.

I will perform an overhaul as part of the retoration.  I am capable of performing but quite light on Lister experience.  I am hoping the t the members can get me out of a bind if I cannot find the answer I need.

I have a gasket set, fresh injectors, filter and other misc parts.  Should make a nice engine when done.  May go the powdercoat route as there is a new reasonable powdercoating company here.

Plans are to build up a gen set with it.

Regards,
Bob

Whow, what a find. I am jealous and how !
Take some picts for us...I am sure we are all dying to see what that one looks like and an ORIGINAL too. Man, you can't go wrong.
I did notice you were in a bind with your order from OL.com. But this seems to be working out for you, all for the better. I'm sure the Amish kept it up and in good running order. You should have very little work to do on it, except for the lipstick....check out this site for some ideas.

Oh how I hate you, a real Lister, right around the corner from me, and no notice, or well. If you get annoyed with the project, E-mail me, we'll talk.
