Title: Rotella synthetic
Post by: MeanListerGreen on May 05, 2008, 12:14:43 PM
Anyone burning Rotella synthetic motor oil?  I use this in all my diesel engines which is everything I own, truck, car, mower, hobby engines.  I have quite a bit left over from oil changes and I was wondering if anyone had tried to burn this?  It is a dino based synthietic from what I gather (not a true synthetic).   I have been advised not to use it in my Cummins (I used to ad a gallon of crankcase oill to every fill up when I used regular Rotella).  Thoughts?

MLG,
All synthetics will burn and burn nicely. Take a look on Valvoline's web site and they give a pretty good description of the differences in the oils. Also, yes, you can run Valvoline Synthetic in your Cummins. It's stated on the website, on the jug... it's all I use in my Dodge... for what it's worth, my mileage improved by 2mpg.
