Solution to lack of age care places in Australia

(1/2) > >>

ajaffa1:
Hi Guys, my wife just received a text message outlining how to get around the shortage of age care places for the old and infirm:

Say you are an older senior citizen and can no longer take care of yourself and the government says there is no Nursing Home care available for you. So, what do you do? You opt for Medicare Plan G.
The plan gives anyone 75 or older a gun (Plan G) and one bullet. You are allowed to shoot one worthless politician. This means you will be sent to prison for the rest of your life where you will receive three meals a day, a roof over your head, central heating and air conditioning, cable TV, a library, and all the Health Care you need. Need new teeth? No problem. Need glasses? That's great. Need a hearing aid, new hip, knees, kidney, lungs, sex change, or heart? They are all covered!

As an added bonus, your kids can come and visit you at least as often as they do now! And, who will be paying for all of this? The same government that just told you they can't afford for you to go into a nursing home. And you will get rid of a useless politician while you are at it. And now, because you are a prisoner, you don't have to pay any more income taxes!

Is this a great country or what? Now that I've solved your senior financial plan, enjoy the rest of your week!

Not advocating criminal behavior just pointing out the inequality of the system.

Surely three or four bullets would be better?  Politicians breed faster than lawyers or lab rats

Still applies in most of the world today and used to be common in the west. Elderly Mom and Dad moved in with the first born son until the end of their days.

LowGear:
RE buickanddeere:  Moved in with the eldest son into the house the parents built or inherited from his father.  Daughters?  Marry well.

If I were choosing children for my retirement years I go for not pretty kinda pudgy girls.  And yes, they could have my toys.

The poor politician.  I think I know a couple of other people that I might move up to the front of the line.  Is vengeance less honorable than patriotism?  People get the representatives they vote for and deserve.  Yes; we have the leadershipness we deserve.  Let us rejoice in all he is teaching.

I've thought this program for fatal medical diagnosises might just be the solution.  Not necessarily murder but something that would get you 1 year to life under mandatory sentencing.

LowGear:
Hmmmmm,

You know glort;

I've read it again and thought the same thing.  And that I can still keyboard whist riding a zero gravity chair.

I wonder which one of my fantasies will be closest to my assisted care life.  Spending my days in an adjustable bed being spoon feed world class chicken soup by beautiful nurse trainees or life in prison being adjusted in bed every once in a while by a "room mate".

I know which one I'm rooting for.  And you?
