Some people just live in a fantasy all of their own and are impervious to reality.

I read this that made me think WTF??

Quote
The generator is a custom marathon build with permanent magnets, voltage regulated with sealed 100,000 hour bearings.  30KW capacity allows you to use the large surge start up that flywheels can deliver.

30 KW alternator on a 12 Hp Engine??
I always thought the rule of thumb was 2 Hp for every Kw on the gen head.  In other works half the KW of the engine not DOUBLE!!  :o

Either way, guy is a moron or a liar..... probably both.  I somehow doubt there is a 30Kw alt on the thing but who knows?
It's sure not a 60 Hp engine so moot point.

Even if it had a 30Kw head and the engine could drive it full tilt, It would want to be a pretty small town you were powering.... in the 1920's...... and in summer!

For $21,000.00 USD I'd think would power half a town??? At least run  a small night light at each house?
