Hi All
As Ed and Gary have the TS3 under control and SWMBO is away for a few days I thought I'd post up about tonight's supper.

It was an omelette, filled with chanterelle mushrooms, picked this morning whilst walking the dog in the woods, cooked in butter with a small clove of garlic and half a shallot, with the butt end of yesterdays loaf fried off in the remaining grease, washed down with a glass of cheap (ish) red wine. Honest, it was up there with a well balanced CS as far as self satisfaction goes.....

Whilst this post is fairly irrelevant on this forum, those who are not going 'WTF?' or simply ignoring it will know where I'm coming from.

Should I fail to post again, don't try this at home.........

Cheers
Stef

Hope you know what you are doing. Reminds me of when a disgruntled employee put magic mushrooms in the officers mess tea ern. The results were hilarious.

Have a safe trip,

Bob

Apparently magic mushrooms can have long lasting benefits for depression. If it weren't for my epilepsy I'd give them a go myself.

Being a terribly boring, straight person, I have never smoked a joint or taken any non prescription substance in my life.
Also never been drunk.  If these magic Mushy things are good for depression, I'll order a box or start growing as many as I can fit in my garage.

I tried getting pissed a while back, Didn't work. Never does.  I have a freakishly high tolerance to booze and been clinically tested twice. I run out of money before I run out of sobriety.
Might sound great to some but the down side is that same resistance to booze also manifests itself to anesthetic and pain killers. If I ever need to have any surgery I'm going to feel it well and truly.  When I had 10 teeth out about a year ago, I was on stuff that was borderline Illegal. Certainly got the 5th degree when I went to the chemist to fill the script. Pretty sure they rang the dentist to confirm the script.  Double the regular dose of that was fine and I didn't suffer at all although the dentist was amazed I didn't just sleep for a week,

As for food, Been here with my Dad for a week and we have been doing well.  Cooked up some fish and chips the other night and it was freaking delicious.  Went out the weekend to supposedly the best fish and chip restaurant in the country and left thinking we enjoyed our own better than theirs.

Dad found this place in town that is a mixture of asian Dishes. We got this noodle and fried rice dish the other night and stuffed ourselves on it. Brilliant.  I'll go into town tomorrow and russel up some steak and something to go with it. Dad doesen't have steak often as he says he always buggers it up when cooking it. I'm no chef but will work something out.

Every time I serve something up for Dad he looks at it, says I better take half it back because he don't eat much and won't be able to get through all that then is finished with a clean plate before i'm 3/4 the way though mine.  Does it every single time.

There is a good food channel on the box up here and I have been making myself hungry watching features of all these restaurants which serve basic street food that you can just see would be Fantastic.

I have finally persuaded dad to come to the " City " and stay with us a couple of nights so I'll have to really make an effort to get my wood fire  oven done so I can cook him a roast and some Pizza in that.  I might be a 2 trick pony when it comes to cooking but given my wood fired oven, they are pretty good tricks If I do say so myself.   :0)

Stef, every now and then when I am "camping" in my half-built, self-built shed, I'll light the fire in the designrd-and-built-it-myself woodstove, sit around enjoying the warmth as I cook dinner on the stove, wash up the dishes in water heated by the wetback, listen to Herself splashing in the bath in an attempt to use the 140 litres of water the stove heats to boiling every evening, and shuffle off to bed to the sound of the firebox "muttering" quietly away to itself . . .

The satisfaction factor is immense
