1115 for sale at decent money
« on: June 12, 2018, 12:42:29 PM »
I dont generally post Ebay links here because everyone looks there but this one was hidden from my normal saved searches. Pretty decent price for a 1115 but wont ship an d too far away from me. I had a 195 of that brand ona factory 10KW set and the engine was a very nice runner.

I was considering buying that too....until I noticed in the 2nd picture that it doesn't have a cylinder head >:(

I took the same $600.00 and bought 2 Farymann 43F diesels that I had found on Ebay; that price included shipping. Both engines appear to be complete except for air filters and mufflers and one engine will not turn. These days that's par for the course with me; so no worries.
I figure worse case scenario I will get 1 running and have 1 for parts. But me that more than likely I will get both running. I was looking for a deal on one of those for a very long time ;D

I contacted the seller and asked him if the engine he is selling is complete or not (this is the last of 3 that he had); he says he will send more pictures tomorrow. I will let you guys know if he sends them.

I contacted the seller and was advised that they are complete engines ( I noticed the pic with the bare head bolts and pointed that out to the seller).  He has 2 identical listings one for $599 pick up and one for $799 free shipping.  I just bought one of the free shipping units.  I'll post something when it arrives.

Yeah, just got to love that " free Shipping" on the same thing that costs $200 more!

In actual fact, it can work to your favour. If you have to get refunded on something, they don't have to refund the shipping. If the shipping was free, then they have to refund the whole amount you paid.

Still a con in most cases though.

Went to buy something on Tuesday.  Place is literally 10 min from me. Said I'll pick it up. No has to be sent, $60. Pigs arse! Not paying $60 for something that will take $1.50 worth of fuel and 15 Min of my time.  Nope, can't come to the warehouse. Really? Then how come returns can be made in person?
I passed.

know exactly where you are coming from, I just ordered $2000 dollars worth of treated timber from my local building supplier. Cheeky b*stards wanted to charge me for delivery. I hung up on them. Guess what they called me back to arrange free delivery. What a surprise!

New photos are posted on Ebay and show a complete engine.  Here's a copy of the message I got from the seller:

"We just updated the photos in our listing. It is complete diesel engine. Since they are old stock, we are not quiet sure how it will work as engine, so we suggest to use them for parts. Or you could try to add oil and run it and may need to change some parts. The retail price for a brand new engine is over $2,000."

May be selling as parts to get around EPA fine potential?  PayPal payment went to JINMAAMERCA which I believe is a pretty big outfit -- Jinma tractors & equipment.  Hopefully it won't be a complete POS.

I'd buy one, probably 2, at that price in a heart beat if it weren't for the fact Of US sellers Fking people over and insulting their intelligence with delivery.
Probably want $5K to send the things to Oz on the slowest boat ever built.

I can get a brick sent from Canada for $5. To send a matchbox from the US they would want to charge $50.

Hey Glort, I share your frustration with postal/delivery charges. I ordered some bits and pieces ten days ago, both with $10 delivery. Guess what, the bits from the UK arrived today having travelled half way around the world by airmail. I am still waiting for the bits from Queensland which is only a four hour drive away.
Go figure,
Bob

Took delivery on the Jin Dong 1115.  As advertised it is a brand new engine that has never been fired; mine has a date of manufacture in 2010.  Filled with fluids and attempted to start -- fuel pump didn't work initially but after a couple of hours sitting with diesel in the system it started working.  At initial start up it was showing symptoms of air in the fuel supply lines (white smoke misfiring)and I started with the line from the tank to the filter to the pump , etc bleeding out the air.  Still white smoke, etc.

Getting frustrated at this point I started rechecking the tightness of every fitting from the fuel tank to the injector and found that the studs that hold the injector in place on the head were slightly loose -- turned each nut about half a turn and voila the engine fired right up and ran normally.

Seems like a nice runner, runs out smooth at 1800 rpm.  Comes with usual accessory kit (rings, bearings, seals & valve springs plus usual crummy tools)

The manual is a hoot -- as a senior citizen myself I took particular attention to the following on page 2:

"Children, the slow old man and epileptics are not permitted to enter the workshop."   >:(

In any event seems like an excellent deal at $799 delivered, YMMV.

fuel pump didn't work initially but after a couple of hours sitting with diesel in the system it started working.

That seems to be the norm for the Horozontals.  Both of mine had stuck pumps from new and they tend to stick when sat round a bit no matter if they have been running Diesel, veg or a combination.
They are so easy to pull apart and clean though. First couple of times I did it I was looking for parts I thought I must have dropped or weren't there in the first place.  Not much to them.

Obviously the PC mentality has not reached China.... well at least it hadn't in 2010 when the engines were built. If it's till the same, I may have to look at moving there.

My father rang me the other week and was not happy. Had bought another AEG battery tool and went to register the warranty. You get 3 years as standard and another 3 if you register online.  He had trouble with the online ( as can be the case so often) and rang them. The Young Bimbo asked him if there was a young person there that could work a computer and do it for him.

Suffice to say, Dad is very old school. Often mentions the Cripple parking that never has a car in it at the shopping centre and the  sheltered workshop for the spastics down the road.... Which he is very supportive of.

He gave the " Young smartarse bitch" on the phone a BIG serve and told her he wasn't an idiot and why the hell could he just not fill in a card like they had done forever and send that in instead of all this fking round online.  He told her he was nearly 80 years old and still running a business and when she got to that stage in her life maybe she could afford to have an attitude.
I said I'd look at it for him when I came up next.

From there he went on to complain about the " Silly old farts that should be put out their mysery" that drove round the place too slow and his neighbour down the road being one of them.
I Pointed out " the old fart' was at least 10 years younger than him. Pretty sure that went straight over his head.

My uncle, his brother was exactly the same. At 85 and living on his own, he used to drive down to the " Old folks home" and read to "the poor old buggers" twice a week.  The fact most of the old buggers were younger than him also didn't seem to register. Another 2 days of the week he was out playing golf.  I asked if he played 9 or 18 Holes and got a look and then a comment that he said he played a game of golf, not a half assed game.
Was also told he played at one course because it was a proper course and you had to walk it not take a cart.
Reasoned if you couldn't walk the course, you had no right playing in the first place!  :0)

Sure would like to find an engine like a 1115. I spent some time earlier in the week looking and best I can tell, no one in oz is selling the things.
A few Yanmars at obscene cost but no China horizontals.  There used to be a few on offer, seem no one is bringing them in here either.

In any event seems like an excellent deal at $799 delivered, YMMV.

I'm getting that engraved on a piece of brass and mounted on the door of my workshop!

Cheers!

I'd be adding " Wives" to the list!

'Course If I did that, She'd probably be rude enough to point out the only slow old man around the place was.... me!

Would not do to be barred from my own shed.   :embarassed:

Mine should be delivered today. Glad to hear yours runs well after minor issues. It did say no shipping, but they did anyway.
