I have an LD2 engine with no rev counter. Can anyone advise me on fitting one?

Easiest and cheapest way is to use a cycle speedo, all you need to do is find somewhere to stick the magnet, on a shaft, held with a few turns of insulating tape, and then make a bracket for the sensor, great for tuning and trouble shooting.

Says it all.

Great for a fast and dirty fix. it's got me out of trouble a couple of times

Nicer is to get a mate like mine to make you one with a Hall effect sensor, you can of course buy them..............

Tighten 'til it strips, weld nut to chassis, peen stud, adjust with angle grinder.

Or,

If you are running a 12v alternator an after market gauge from Ebay (or from something down the scrapyard) that picks up it's signal from the 'W' terminal on the alternator would do it, tho' you might need recalibrate - ie stick something over the dial and draw new lines on it!

I bought one similar to this it actually came from the UK works really well. The reflective tape wasn't great but I got a foot of lorry marking tape for nothing in the motor factors thats a lifetimes supply
