Help I require assistance in identifying this Lister
« on: November 07, 2017, 08:36:31 AM »
Hello all

Please move this post if it is not in the correct section. My dad (Diesel fitter by trade) has acquired another project and we are looking for assistance to identify the model. Once we identify the model we would like to source a manual with all the technical info and specs.

The identification plate reads
No 60/32933
Spec 27/3/32
H.P 30
R.P.M 1200

Regards Stephen

That would be a Lister JP3 engine.

Parts are expensive, when compared to the more prevalent Lister CS engine. But IMHO a far superior engine in every respect.

Nice find! A JP3, as already mentioned, these are expensive engines on this side of the world - JP3s are much prized by canal boat owners as main propulsion engines. Plus they have that unique 3-cylinder off-beat tone, which seems to make them even more popular.

Used parts are readily available over here, I'm not sure what availability is in Australia (which, I'm guessing from your username, is where you're based).

Good luck! Some video of it running would be cool, once you get to that stage.
Cheers!
Ade.
