Lister TR3 Overheating
« on: November 03, 2017, 11:58:18 AM »
Hi guys
So I've stripped my engine back to the crankcase, cleaned everything,  replaced all the gaskets and fitted new injectors but the thing is still overheating for some reason. It had also had new oil, fuel, air filters and fresh oil.
It starts and runs fine but then cuts out after about two hours.
Any clues?
Thanx for your time
Allan

I would need a little more specific information to make reasonable suggestions...

What is the air-flow like? Sometimes the fan blades get dusted - if they have lost the concave shape to dirt, then they will not move as much air.

What are your timing settings? What are the individual exhaust port temps?

How much load is the engine pulling?

Also if the engine is operating in an enclosed space, does the engine have a supply of fresh air, and is the hot air that exits the engine sufficiently ducted away from the engine to prevent re-entrainment into the supply air stream.
