In their more modern versions Lister experimented with what they called odd-fire and even-fire arrangements (in 2-cylinder and 4-cylinder engines). This amounts to the same thing described as opposing crank throws vs matched crank throws (split-twins?).

Would this be the sort of LPW2 crankshaft you had in mind, when using the term even fire.

Yes, that LPW2 crankshaft has both connecting rod throws on the same side of crankshaft and were identified as "even-fire". Odd-fire would have the throws at 180 degrees from each other.

Bear in mind that I am translating and inferring a bit of this information simply from hands on the parts and from observations made on the actual engines. This is not from any written documentation - that seems to be completely absent from the records we have been able to unearth. We do have 100% of the factory records as far as I know, but sometimes this sort of thing will be in memo format and much like the proverbial needle in the haystack.

I use to follow these engines on eBay years ago, and was planning on acquiring one for emergency use. Will the kits be available for the forseeable future?

As far as we can see, no worries about availability of the kits. It is an uncertain world, pricing and delivery costs will vary according to both political and market conditions.
