« on: June 18, 2016, 02:35:16 PM »
Im looking for a larger engine for the shed, im thinking a Ruston hornsby mark cy sized engine or bigger, blackstone crossley or national . I would like a clean running engine and i would like to see detailed pictures and a video if possible.
Thanks guys!

I have original Chromard liners and pistons, PM me if your interested, they are located in the UK.

In the mean time here a couple of recent ebay sales of JP4 engines to drool over:

That first one was mine...

It didn't sell.

Shame, that means I get to keep it  ;D

Now all I have to do is find a way to move it...  :o
Cheers!

Well.... it was a boat engine (or, rather, it had been put in a boat - it was originally a searchlight engine from WW2)...

So, first, build a boat?  :D
Cheers!

As far as JP engines selling cheap, there is an inverse price relationship concerning these engine in the UK. JP2 (and to a much lesser extent JP3) engines sell for silly money, as the canal boat fraternity are always looking to buy industrial engines for marinisation. Invariably JP4 engines sell for little more than scrap metal money prices, and usually get broken up for spares.

I mentioned this Lister JP4 previously at the beginning of this thread, well it's back again, and is now super cheap:
