Lister Genset pair for Canadian fishing lodge
« on: November 15, 2016, 02:54:36 AM »
We have been pretty busy in our shop of late. Here is one project I just finished up - a pair of newly rebuilt HR3 27.5kW gensets for a Canadian fishing lodge.

Hi Gary

I can't see the pictures, all I have is little icons, is it me - may well be, I haven't even worked out how to post pictures on here yet!

Cheers Stef

That is odd, they appear properly when I open the topic on my computer. I will look into it further.

Looks like there is a https address given, meaning it may require some kind of security cookie. Those images are on Microsoft OneDrive or live.com. I may have to move things again.

Anyone else have a report on viewing these images? Either successful or unsuccessful will help clarify the situation.

No, the images are not addressed local... they are web hosted. But, maybe still a security access problem. I will look into another hosting site - Microsoft is just too darn controlling on everything they touch.

Hi Gary

No images, sorry

I had a similar experience putting up links on here to images on facebook - despite people's dislike of it, it's a global platform, and I could open the links from another computer - but northern hemisphere folks were unable to see them

Some anomaly in action

Cheers, Mike

Looks good from Wales too! really nice  work.
With all the other kit that's now available it's nice to see Listers still leaving the workshop.

There are still quite a few of the old Lister HR industrial machines out there. While no longer in daily operation, they are considered last-line-of-defense failsafes by Alascom for their Alaskan mountain-top communications sites and have been kept in place as backups. Several of our remote school sites also have them... still going strong after 35+ years of service although now considered a bit too small for everyday use. These are direct injection diesels, but they are also available in a natural gas version - 20 and 30 horsepower. We are seeking a market for a lot of the gas machines.

Those should be some dandy units ;) New enough to have good controls but not so new as to have lots of complicated baggage attached.  We are all too well set up with standby power around here or I could be enticed into one of those,,,

What province and location? There are a few old gen sets in fly in only hunting/fishing camps but the cost and complexity to recover them is not for the faint of heart.

Ontario, Eagle River.

Yes, moving the heavy iron around is difficult once you get off the road system. Oftentimes, sledding in in the winter is how it is done, or via boat in the summer.
