flywheel type for LPA2 and LPW2
« on: September 26, 2016, 10:47:25 PM »

Does anyone know if the flywheel and related parts are the same?  I see many Onan LPW2s for sale without flywheels and starters, so perhaps I can put the stamford genend on the Onan diesel LPW2.  Anyone think this would work?  Would guess the starter would fit also?  I think the water cooled diesel is quieter?

Any comments are welcome

LPA and LPW flywheels do indeed interchange... starters as well.

It is unfortunate that the military and civilian parts do not interchange though... this is one reason that most of the military stuff is sold without flywheels.

The water jacket does quiet down the diesel knock a little bit, but it is pretty hard to tell the difference without a sound meter of some sort. All of the Alphas are quiet little engines.

We have plenty of flywheels and all other parts for the Alpha (LPA/LPW) series. We have the entirety of the old L/P Olathe remanufacturing operation under our roof now. gary@dieselgen.com
